Augmentation rhinoplasty traditionally represents a serious challenge for plastic surgeons. The association with centrofacial lipofilling is a great approach to achieve harmonious, aesthetic results. The aim of this article is to describe our personal association between Augmentation Rhinoplasty and Centrofacial Lipofilling (ARCL) in non-Caucasian patients.

Introduction: According to the American Society of Plastic Surgery, cosmetic surgery procedures for "ethnic patients" are annually increasing. Ethnic rhinoplasty traditionally represents a difficult challenge for plastic surgeons. Herein, we describe our personal technique to ethnic rhinoplasty to achieve a harmonious nose maintaining the characteristics of individual ethnicity and identity.

Purpose Of Review: To provide an overview of the use of race-based terminology in the rhinoplasty literature.
Recent Findings: The rhinoplasty literature is often indexed by race, with common usage of the terms Ethnic/Non-Caucasian/Nonwhite; African American/of African descent; Hispanic/Latinx; and Asian to refer to certain patient populations. There are wide variations in facial features within these populations, but specific traits may be more prevalent in patients with certain backgrounds.

Background: Recently, there has been increasing focus on understanding nasal anatomy in ethnic populations and using it to guide rhinoplasty techniques in non-Caucasian patients. Many disparate groups have historically been inappropriately clustered based on geography. However, there has been little attention on describing regional differences within these populations.

Today non-Caucasian patients comprise an important group of patients seeking rhinoplasty. The term non-Caucasian is used interchangeably to speak about patients of ethnic origin. It becomes important to understand the interplay of culture, race, and ethnicity when evaluating patients and defining what their aesthetic ideals are and what will be needed for surgery.
