Introduction: Health Professions Scholarship Program (HPSP) medical students typically enter the military with minimal military experience, commissioning specifically for the scholarship. During medical school, the only required training is a 5- to 6-week officer training course, which is neither specific to medicine nor guaranteed to be at the beginning of school, since it can be taken at any time. This lack of prior experience can lead to decreased confidence and understanding of the HPSP, specifically the medical school timeline leading up to the military match process and overall military.

Background: In the United States, a growing number of lung transplants are performed each year, necessitating an increased number of general and transplant pulmonologists skilled in the care of these complex patients. However, pulmonary and critical care medicine (PCCM) fellowships across the country do not universally have dedicated lung transplantation curricula, and there is scarce literature in this area. We describe the generation of a content outline for curriculum development created through modified electronic Delphi methodology.

Plans are formulated and refined throughout the period leading up to their execution, ensuring that the appropriate behaviors are enacted at the appropriate times. While existing evidence suggests that memory circuits convey the passage of time through diverse neuronal responses, it remains unclear whether the neural circuits involved in planning exhibit analogous temporal dynamics. Using publicly available data, we analyzed how activity in the mouse frontal motor cortex evolves during motor planning.

The Accuracy of Cardiac Surface Conduction Velocity Measurements.

JACC Clin Electrophysiol

December 2024

The Hull Family Cardiac Fibrillation Management Laboratory, Toronto General Hospital, University Health Network, Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

Background: Conduction velocity (CV) is a measure of the health of myocardial tissue. It can be measured by taking differences in local activation times from intracardiac electrodes. Several factors introduce error into the measurement, among which ignoring the 3-dimensional aspect is a major detriment.

Background: There is a growing body of evidence showing the value of community singing-based rehabilitation on psychosocial well-being and communication for people with post-stroke communication impairment (PSCI). However, there has been little consideration of the potential value an inpatient aphasia-friendly choir may have through the perspective of the stroke multidisciplinary team (MDT).

Aims: To explore the experiences and views of the MDT on the role an established inpatient aphasia-friendly choir, at a stroke rehabilitation centre in South Wales, UK, may play in the rehabilitation of people with PSCI.
