AI Article Synopsis

  • A large porphyrin molecule was created with a molecular weight of 15 kDa.
  • The self-assembly of this molecule at a surface was examined using liquid scanning tunneling microscopy (STM).
  • The results showed the formation of extensive, well-ordered structures, with columnar stacks measuring over 400 x 400 nm².

Article Abstract

A giant porphyrin disc (M(w)= 15 kDa) has been synthesized and its self-assembly behaviour at an interface studied by liquid STM which reveals the presence of huge domains (>400 x 400 nm2) of very well ordered and molecularly resolved columnar stacks.

We designed and successfully synthesized highly substituted electron-deficient nonplanar Ni(II) porphyrins and their derivatives () in moderate to good yields. These derivatives were comprehensively characterized by various spectroscopic techniques and single-crystal X-ray diffraction (SCXRD) analysis. SCXRD analysis confirmed the structures of compounds , , and , adopting saddle-shape geometry.

Successful treatment by a chlorin e6 derivative mediated photodynamic therapy combined holmium laser for cervical and vaginal giant condyloma acuminata and low-grade intraepithelial neoplasia:A case report.

Photodynamic therapy (PDT) is proved effective for treating low-grade squamous intraepithelial lesions (LSIL) and condylomata acuminata (CA). 5-Aminolevulinicacid (5-ALA) is the most common applied photosensitizer, but high rate of unbearable pain and relative long incubation time were reported. Here, we report a 27-year-old woman suffering from cervical and vaginal giant CA with LSIL involving the whole right vaginal fornix, cervical surface, and vaginal wall.

Giant Star-shaped meso-substituted Fluorescent Porphyrins with Fluorenyl-containing Arms Designed for Two-photon Oxygen Photosensitization.

Chemistry

March 2024

Univ Rennes, INSA Rennes, CNRS, ISCR (Institut des Sciences Chimiques de Rennes) - UMR 6226, F-35000, Rennes, France.

In the continuation of previous studies on carbon-rich meso-tetraarylporphyrins featuring 2,7-fluorene units at their periphery, the effect of changing the peripheral dendritic arms for linear arms on their oxygen-photosensitizing ability, their fluorescence and their two-photon absorption (2PA) properties is now analyzed. Thus, starburst porphyrins possessing up to twenty conjugated fluorenyl units were isolated and studied. More precisely, a series of five new free-base porphyrins featuring fully conjugated arms incorporating an increasing number of fluorenyl groups connected via 1,2-alkenyl spacers were synthesized, along with their Zn(II) complexes.

Photocoupled Electroreduction of CO over Photosensitizer-Decorated Covalent Organic Frameworks.

Introducing an external visible-light field would be a promising strategy to improve the activity of the electrocatalytic CO reduction reaction (CORR), but it still remains a challenge due to the short excited-state lifetime of active sites. Herein, Ru(bpy)Cl struts as powerful photosensitive donors were immobilized into the backbones of Co-porphyrin-based covalent organic frameworks (named Co-Bpy-COF-Ru, is the molar ratio of Ru and Co species, = 1/2 and 2/3) via coordination bonds, for the photo-coupled CORR to produce CO. The optimal Co-Bpy-COF-Ru displays a high CO Faradaic efficiency of 96.

Improving Interface Matching in MOF-on-MOF S-Scheme Heterojunction through π-π Conjugation for Boosting Photoelectric Response.

Accelerating the migration of interfacial carriers in a heterojunction is of paramount importance for driving high-performance photoelectric responses. However, the inferior contact area and large resistance at the interface limit the eventual photoelectric performance. Herein, we fabricated an S-scheme heterojunction involving a 2D/2D dual-metalloporphyrin metal-organic framework with metal-center-regulated CuTCPP(Cu)/CuTCPP(Fe) through electrostatic self-assembly.
