Background: The study aimed to evaluate the level of agreement between specialists in pediatric allergology regarding the diagnosis and indications for allergen immunotherapy (AIT) for dust mites, molds, animal dander, and Hymenoptera venom allergen, as well as mixtures of several allergen sources in polysensitized children in Spain.
Materials And Methods: A Delphi study was performed using an online survey designed by a committee of pediatric AIT experts: 46 and 44 panelists participated in Rounds 1 and 2, respectively. In Round 1, 204 statements on 8 dimensions were evaluated (Diagnosis, Therapeutic management, and Pollens - Part I; Mites, molds, animals, hymenoptera venom, and mixtures - Part II).
Tick salivary proteins metalloprotease and allergen-like p23 are associated with response to glycan α-Gal and mycobacterium infection.

The alpha-Gal syndrome (AGS) evolved as a catastrophic selection associated with anti-α-Gal IgM/IgG protective response against pathogen infection and tick-borne food allergy caused by IgE-type antibodies against this glycan present in glycoproteins and glycolipids from mammalian meat and derived products. The immune response to α-Gal is modulated by tick salivary proteins with and without α-Gal modifications in combination with tick saliva non-protein fraction. Herein, we characterized the role of tick salivary proteins, metalloprotease and allergen-like p23 in AGS and protection against tuberculosis in the AGS zebrafish animal model.

Allergic contact dermatitis (ACD) is an increasingly common skin condition characterized by itchy rashes in response to allergens. The most common diagnostic test involves patch testing (PT), but despite the efficacy of PT for identifying and guiding patients toward avoidance of allergens, PT alone does not elucidate the underlying biomechanistic changes which may be useful for sub-categorizing ACD further. In addition, some patients may never be able to identify their causative allergens unless they go to highly specialized ACD centers.

Astrovirus MLB1 (HAstV-MLB1) is non-enveloped RNA virus that cause acute gastroenteritis infection. Despite research progress about infection and pathogenesis of HAstV-MLB1, Currently, no vaccine has been developed to effectively combat this pathogen. The current study is based on immunoinformatics and reverse vaccinology approaches to design next-generation, multi-epitope-based vaccine models against HAstV-MLB1.

Climate change will continue to impact allergic diseases in direct and indirect ways. Rising global temperatures are contributing to increased duration of pollen seasons, altered aeroallergen production and potency of allergens, and changes in the geographic distribution of allergenic plants that drive increased human exposure to aeroallergens and increased allergic disease morbidity. Climate change is inextricably linked with air pollution, the latter of which was shown to act as an adjuvant for allergic inflammatory processes promoting allergic sensitization.
