Objective: To explore the different surgical choices for treating the ossifying fibroma of the sinuses. To summarize the management and characteristics of each surgical operation.
Methods: A retrospective evaluation of thirty-five patients with ossifying fibroma of the sinuses from August 1994 to July 2001 was presented.
Results: Among 22 patients operated by nasal endoscopic management, complete ossifying fibroma removed was achieved in 8 cases, and the majority part of tumor removed in 14 cases. Six patients were operated through a lateral rhinotomy with radical operation in 4 cases. Five ossifying fibromas were removed with a coronal incision. Two cases underwent Caldwell-Luc' surgery. The clinical symptoms, location of ossifying fibroma, and surgical procedures were analyzed. All patients outcomes were successful, no serious complication from the surgical technique occurred. Thirty-three cases were followed-up for 1 to 8 years with an average of three and half years. Fourteen patients had no recurrence, fourteen cases lived with the remains of ossifying fibroma, and five cases recurred.
Conclusions: The choice of surgical operations on ossifying fibroma of the sinuses was mainly decided by the location of ossifying fibroma, in the meanwhile, the organ function, the cosmetology, the surgical degree of difficulty, and the doctor's experience were taken into account.

Fibro-osseous tumors of the craniofacial bones are a heterogeneous group of lesions comprising cemento-osseous dysplasia (COD), cemento-ossifying fibroma (COF), juvenile trabecular ossifying fibroma (JTOF), psammomatoid ossifying fibroma (PsOF), fibrous dysplasia (FD), and low-grade osteosarcoma (LGOS) with overlapping clinicopathological features. However, their clinical behavior and treatment differ significantly, underlining the need for accurate diagnosis. Molecular diagnostic markers exist for subsets of these tumors, including GNAS mutations in FD, SATB2 fusions in PsOF, mutations involving the RAS-MAPK signaling pathway in COD, and MDM2 amplification in LGOS.

Eighteen months after the resection and micro-vascular reconstruction of central ossifying fibroma of the right mandible in a 54-year-old male patient, there occur two synchronous neoplasms, basal cell adenoma (BSA) and oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC). Two years after reconstructive surgery, the patient reported a second primary OSCC on the left retromolar mucosa. This case reports two morphologically diverse benign neoplasms preceding metachronous OSCC in one individual.

Jaffe-Campanacci syndrome (JCS) is a rare disorder characterized by multiple non-ossifying fibromas (NOFs), café-au-lait spots, and other features such as mental retardation and cryptorchidism. It is often clinically and genetically similar to neurofibromatosis type 1 (NF1), complicating diagnosis. This report presents a 17-year-old male with right knee pain, café-au-lait spots, and axillary freckling.

Background: Benign bone lesions are a common incidental finding in athletes during workup for musculoskeletal complaints, and athletes are frequently advised to halt participation in contact sports. There are no current guidelines to assist clinicians in referring patients with these lesions to a subspecialist or in advising athletes on the safety of returning to sport.
Purpose: To assist sports medicine physicians in appropriate referral for patients with benign bone lesions through presentation of a literature review and the case of an adolescent athlete with a benign bone lesion in a location with a significant fracture risk.

Objective: To assess the sclerostin, β-catenin, and tryptase expression in fibro-osseous lesions (FOL) of the jaws.
Subjects And Methods: Immunohistochemistry analysis was performed for these proteins on FOL and non-lesional bone. The sclerostin-positive cells were scored from 0 (no expression) to 3 (high expression).
