The blood supply of the symphysis pubis is still the subject of some debate. Classic anatomy books state that this joint is avascular, whereas some published works have shown blood vessels in young specimens. As several articular discs such as the knee menisci are known to have blood vessels in their peripheries, we decided to investigate the possible nutrition pathways to the interpubic disc and ligaments. We used 60 Wistar rats, male and female, aged between 28 and 32 days, or between 90 and 100 days. Samples were processed using a variety of techniques: regular histology, immunohistochemestry, India ink injection and corrosion casting. The interpubic disc consisted of an inner bearing portion and an outer fibrous rim. The interpubic ligaments and the fibrous rim were well vascularized in all groups. Marrow contacts between the interpubic disc and the subchondral bone were also observed. Blood vessels formed an authentic arterial circle embracing the joint, from which blood vessels branched into capillary loops facing the avascular inner bearing portion of the disc. These results confirm the need for future studies on the human symphysis pubis, to provide more details on its structure, which would enable clinicians such as physiotherapists to improve prognosis and treatment design. Future studies may also explain the pathways down which the hormone relaxin reaches its targets within this joint.

Subject-specific parameters in lumped hemodynamic models of the cardiovascular system can be estimated using data from experimental measurements, but the parameter estimation may be hampered by the variability in the input data. In this study, we investigate the influence of inter-sequence, intra-observer, and inter-observer variability in input parameters on estimation of subject-specific model parameters using a previously developed approach for model-based analysis of data from 4D Flow MRI acquisitions and cuff pressure measurements. The investigated parameters describe left ventricular time-varying elastance and aortic compliance.

Objective: To observe the clinical efficacy of 's subcutaneous needling based on "multi-joint muscle spiral balance chain" theory for cervical vertigo (CV) and its effect on blood flow velocity of vertebral artery.
Methods: A total of 60 patients with CV were randomized into a Fu's subcutaneous needling group and a medication group, 30 cases in each one. In the Fu's subcutaneous needling group, 's subcutaneous needling was delivered at Dazhui (GV14), the flexible tube was retained for 5 min after sweeping manipulation, and the treatment was given once every other day, 3 times a week for 3 weeks.

Dysfunctional lymphatic drainage from the central nervous system (CNS) has been linked to neuroinflammatory and neurodegenerative disorders, but our understanding of the lymphatic contribution to CNS fluid autoregulation remains limited. Here, we studied forces that drive the outflow of the cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) into the deep and superficial cervical lymph nodes (dcLN and scLN) and tested how the blockade of lymphatic networks affects CNS fluid homeostasis. Outflow to the dcLN occurred spontaneously in the absence of lymphatic pumping and was coupled to intracranial pressure (ICP), whereas scLN drainage was driven by pumping.

Background: Laparoscopic liver resection (LLR) can be challenging due to the difficulty of establishing a retrohepatic tunnel under laparoscopy. Dissecting the third hepatic hilum before parenchymal transection often leads to significant liver mobilization, tumor compression, and bleeding from the short hepatic veins (SHVs). This study introduces a novel technique utilizing the ventral avascular area of the inferior vena cava (IVC), allowing SHVs to be addressed after parenchymal transection, thereby reducing surgical complexity and improving outcomes in in situ LLR.
