Gastric cancer (GC), one of the tumours with the highest mortality worldwide, is not a homogeneous disease, showing different features according to location, macroscopic aspect, histotype and molecular alterations. Adenocarcinoma is the most frequent epithelial GC (95%), the remaining 5% comprising rare epithelial tumours with their peculiarities, behaviour and incidence <6 cases/100,000/year. Due to the low number of cases, many aspects must be elucidated in this context.

Unlabelled: Various studies predict large migration flows due to climatic and other environmental changes, yet the ex post empirical evidence for such migration is inconclusive. To examine the causal link between environmental changes and migration for a population residing along the Jamuna River in Bangladesh, an area heavily affected by floods and riverbank erosion, I relate the respondents' self-reported affectedness by environmental changes, their migration aspirations, and their capability to move to their migration likelihood. The analysis relies on a unique quasi-experimental research design based on original survey panel data of 1604 household heads.

Active fluids are driven out of thermodynamic equilibrium by internally generated forces, causing complex patterns of motion. Even when both the forces and motion are measurable, it is not yet possible to relate the two, because the sources of energy injection and dissipation are often unclear. Here, we study how energy is transferred by developing a method to measure viscosity from the shear stresses and strain rates within an epithelial cell monolayer.

Objective: To explore the application of short-peptide enteral nutrition formulation in mechanically ventilated pediatric patients with severe pneumonia and its impact on rehabilitation outcomes, providing practical clinical evidence for the nutritional support strategy in critically ill pneumonia children.

Methods: This study retrospectively analyzed the clinical data of 90 neonatal pneumonia patients undergoing mechanical ventilation from May 2022 to December 2023. The patients were divided into an experimental group receiving short peptide enteral nutrition formulation via nasogastric tube and a control group receiving whole-protein enteral nutrition formulation via nasogastric tube.

Hybrid nanoscintillators, which feature a heavy inorganic nanoparticle conjugated with an organic emitter, represent a promising avenue for advancements in diverse fields, including high-energy physics, homeland security, and biomedicine. Many research studies have shown the suitability of hybrid nanoscintillators for radiation oncology, showing potential to improve therapeutic results compared to traditional protocols. In this work, we studied SiO/ZnO nanoparticles functionalized with porphyrin as a photosensitizer, capable of producing cancer cytotoxic reactive oxygen species for possible use in radio-oncological therapeutics.
