Female mosquitoes require a vertebrate blood meal to activate reproduction, transmitting numerous devastating human diseases. Vitellogenesis is a central event of female reproduction that involves the massive production of vitellogenin (Vg) in the fat body and the maturation of ovaries. This process is controlled by the steroid hormone 20-hydroxyecdysone (20E); however, its molecular regulatory basis remains not completely understood.

The PARP inhibitor olaparib is an anti-cancer agent based on synthetic lethality that targets poly (ADP-ribose) polymerases. It is used as a therapeutic agent for breast, ovarian, pancreatic, and prostate cancers carrying BRCA1/2 mutations that cause deficiency in homologous recombination. In recent years, acquired resistance to PARP inhibitors has become a clinical problem in PARP inhibitor-treated patients.

Introduction And Importance: Ovarian atypical proliferative mucinous tumor (APMT) is a low-malignant or borderline tumor that originates from the ovary's surface epithelium. This tumor can grow to a massive size, causing abdominal distention, which can result in a variety of compression symptoms if it is not discovered early.
Case Presentation: A 23-year-old female presented with a chronic, gradually developing abdominal distention that had been persistent for a year.
Background: Lipid droplets (LDs) are organelles consisting of a central core of neutral lipids covered by a single layer of phospholipids and are found in most eukaryotic cells. Accumulating evidence suggests that LDs not only store neutral lipids but also coordinate with other organelles for lipid metabolism within cells.
Methods: This review focuses on the synthesis of LDs during follicular development and highlights the factors involved in the regulation of LD biogenesis within the ovary.
