The paper contains the results of examinations of hemodynamics of the eye and brain in patients with primary open-angle glaucoma (POAG) obtained by the authors also by means of rheoophthalmography made to determine the functional status of intraocular vessels. New methods are suggested for diagnostic interpretation, which enhance the importance of rheography in examinations of hemodynamics of the eye and brain in patients with glaucoma. The authors used self-learning artificial neuron networks to process Fourie- and wavelet factors, obtained in novel rheoophthalmograms processing, which made it possible to recommend the described method for an early diagnosis of POAG.

Purpose: To investigate the relationship between nocturnal blood pressure (BP) dip and parapapillary choroidal vessel density (pCVD) in patients with normal-tension glaucoma (NTG).

Methods: This study analyzed 267 eyes of 267 untreated NTG patients who underwent 24-hour (h) intraocular pressure (IOP) and ambulatory BP monitoring in the habitual position. Most postoperative deaths occur on general wards, often linked to complications associated with untreated changes in vital signs. Monitoring in these units is typically intermittent checks each shift or maximally every 4-6 h, which misses prolonged periods of subtle changes in physiology that can herald a critical downstream event. Continuous monitoring of vital signs is therefore intuitively necessary for patient safety.
