The two-dimensional ordering of a number of 2,2'-bipyridine derivatives at the liquid/solid interface has been investigated by scanning tunneling microscopy. By appropriate functionalization of the bipyridine units, their intermolecular distance can be tuned, which has proved to be crucial for complexation with metal ions. The in situ addition of metal salts (Pd(2+), Cu(2+)), leading to the formation of metal-bipyridine complexes, has a dramatic influence on the two-dimensional ordering of the molecules and suggests that these complexes could be used as templates.

Two-dimensional (2D) transition metal dichalcogenides (TMDCs) such as MoS and WSe are excellent candidates for photovoltaic (PV) applications. Here, we present the modeling, fabrication, and characterization of large-area CVD-grown MoS-based flexible PV on an off-the-shelf, 3 μm-thick flexible colorless polyimide with polyimide encapsulation designed for space structures. The devices are characterized under 1 sun AM0 illumination and show a of 0.

Influence of CTAB Reverse Micellar Confinement on the Tetrahedral Structure of Liquid Water.

The effect of confinement on the tetrahedral ordering of liquid water plays a vital role in controlling their microscopic structure and dynamics as well as their spectroscopic properties. In this article, we have performed the classical molecular dynamics simulations of four different CTAB/water/chloroform reverse micelles with varied water content to study how the tetrahedral ordering of nanoscale water inside reverse micellar confinement influences the microscopic dynamics and the structural relaxation of water···water hydrogen bonds and its impact on the low-frequency intermolecular vibrational bands. We have noticed from the results obtained from simulated trajectories the lowering trends of tetrahedral ordering of water pools in reverse micellar confinements as we move from bulk to confined and strictly confined environments.

Two-dimensional (2D) carbon allotropes, together with their binary and ternary counterparts, have attracted substantial research interest due to their peculiar geometries and properties. Among them, grapheneplus, a derivative of penta-graphene, has been proposed to exhibit unusual mechanical and electronic behaviour. In this work, we perform a comprehensive first-principles study on its isoelectronic and isostructural analogue, a grapheneplus-like BCN (gp-BCN) monolayer.

In this Letter, we present a novel, to the best of our knowledge, approach for recovering objects directly from the Fraunhofer diffraction integral, where the diffraction field of an object is approximated by the Fourier transform of this object augmented by an additional phase factor. This phase factor at the observation plane is universal for the diffraction fields generated by objects located at the same plane and illuminated by the same monochromatic plane wave. It can be first extracted from dividing the Fraunhofer diffraction field by the Fourier transform of an object reference.

Structurally and Electronically Anisotropic Nature of Bridgman-Grown CsSbBr Perovskite Single Crystal toward Efficient Photodetector.

ACS Appl Mater Interfaces

CsSbBr, as a sort of novel lead-free perovskite single crystal, has the merits of high carrier mobility and a long diffusion length. However, the large-sized and high-crystallized CsSbBr single crystals are not easily obtained. Herein, we apply the vertical Bridgman method to grow centimeter-sized CsSbBr single crystal.
