1D Covalent Organic Frameworks with Tunable Dual-Cobalt Synergistic Sites for Efficient CO Photoreduction.

Macromol Rapid Commun

Diatomic catalysts enhance photocatalytic CO reduction through synergistic effects. However, precisely regulating the distance between two catalytic centers to achieve synergistic catalysis poses significant challenges. In this study, a series of one-dimensional (1D) covalent organic frameworks (COFs) are designed with adjustable micropores to facilitate efficient CO photoreduction.

Pentose oxidation and reduction, processes yielding value-added sugar-derived acids and alcohols, typically involve separate procedures necessitating distinct reaction conditions. In this study, a novel one-pot reaction for the concurrent production of xylonic acid and xylitol from xylose is proposed. This reaction was executed at ambient temperature in the presence of a base, eliminating the need for external gases, by leveraging Pt-supported catalysts.

Cisplatin-based platinum compounds are important clinical chemotherapeutic agents that participate in most tumor chemotherapy regimens. Through density-functional theory calculations, the formation and stability of the inorganic oxide carrier, the mechanisms of the hydrolysis reaction of the activated platinum compound, and its binding mechanism with DNA bases can be studied. The higher the oxidation state of Pt (II to IV), the more electrons transfer from the magnesia-gold composite material to the platinum compound.

GC-DFT-Based Dynamic Product Distribution Reveals Enhanced CO-to-Methanol Electrocatalysis Durability by Heterogeneous CoPc.

Heterogeneous cobalt phthalocyanine has emerged as a promising molecular catalyst for electrochemical reduction of CO to methanol. Boosting both electrocatalytic durability and selectivity remains a great challenge, which is more difficult with unknown regulation factors for the HER side reaction. Herein, to discover the key to balancing the durability and selectivity, as well as HER regulation, we carried out GC-DFT calculations, based on which dynamic product distribution modeling was conducted to visually present the variation of the product distribution within the applied voltage range.

Advanced aqueous phenazine redox flow battery enhanced by selective interfacial water behavior on Co/NC modified electrode.

J Colloid Interface Sci

December 2024

Jiangsu Key Laboratory of Advanced Catalytic Materials and Technology, School of Petrochemical Engineering, Changzhou University, Changzhou, 213164, China. Electronic address:

Although aqueous organic redox flow battery (RFBs) is a highly promising energy storage device, the redox reaction kinetics of the anode organic electrolyte material, especially for phenazine derivatives, are limited by low electrochemical activity of traditional porous carbon electrodes. Herein, Co/NC composite electrocatalyst was elaborated to significantly enhance the redox reaction kinetics of phenazine derivatives, in which Co/NC electrocatalyst could improve energy efficiency of aqueous phenazine RFBs by 43.2 % compared to pure carbon felt electrodes at current density of 100 mA/cm.
