Background: The complementarity-determining region (CDR) of antibodies represents the most diverse region both in terms of sequence and structural characteristics, playing the most critical role in antibody recognition and binding for immune responses. Over the past decades, several numbering schemes have been introduced to define CDRs based on sequence. However, the existence of diverse numbering schemes has led to potential confusion, and a comprehensive evaluation of these schemes is lacking.

The HIV-1 Rev protein expressed in the early stage of virus replication is involved in the nuclear export of some forms of virus RNA. Naturally occurring polymorphisms in the Rev protein could influence its activity. The association between the genetic features of different virus variants and HIV infection pathogenesis has been discussed for many years.

Background: Facial palsy (FP) is defined as an injury of the seventh cranial nerve pair, partial or total, which can be classified as central or peripheral. Proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation (PNF) is primarily used in the functional recovery of upper and lower limb conditions, however the technique has also been used for FP.

Objective: To analyze the effect of PNF in the treatment of dysfunctions in FP.

Genetic Diversity and Low Therapeutic Impact of Variant-Specific Markers in HIV-1 Pol Proteins.

The emergence and spread of new HIV-1 variants pose a challenge for the effectiveness of antiretrovirals (ARV) targeting Pol proteins. During viral evolution, non-synonymous mutations have fixed along the viral genome, leading to amino acid (aa) changes that can be variant-specific (V-markers). Those V-markers fixed in positions associated with drug resistance mutations (DRM), or R-markers, can impact drug susceptibility and resistance pathways.
