A 56-year-old woman presented with an intracranial osteosarcoma at the site of previous radiosurgery, manifesting as sudden onset of headache and left hemiparesis with aphasia. She had a previous history of stereotactic radiosurgery for an intracranial tumor under a diagnosis of falx meningioma. Computed tomography showed intratumoral and peritumoral hemorrhage at the right parietofrontal region. Gross total resection of the tumor with hematoma was performed. The histological diagnosis was osteosarcoma. Sarcomatous change is a rare complication of radiotherapy. This case illustrates that osteosarcoma may develop years after radiosurgery for benign brain neoplasm.

To study the feasibility and efficacy of pericranial flaps for the repairs of large anterior skull base defects. The average length of the pericranial flaps needed for skull base repair was determined with computed tomography measurements in 20 adults and anatomical dissections in 5 cadaver specimen. A series of patients who underwent endoscopic skull base surgeries and subsequent reconstructions with pericranial flaps at the Department of Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery, Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine Affiliated Sixth People's Hospital from 2016 to 2022 were retrospectively reviewed.

Background The aim of this study is to evaluate the clinical and radiological findings of metastatic tumors and primary brain tumors affecting the fornix. Methods Between January 2015 and March 2023, we retrospectively evaluated 1087 patients of both sexes who underwent cranial magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) for a preliminary diagnosis of intracranial malignancy in the radiology department of our hospital. Two radiologists with six and 10 years of experience in MRI examination assessed the relationship between primary and metastatic tumors and the fornix.

This study reports a 12-year-old male was referred to our institute with a mass in the right ear. The mass was rapidly growing thus needing an immediate surgical attention. MRI revealed an exophytic, hyper vascular mass extending to the right jugular fossa and, the middle ear, and to the right acoustic meatus, suggestive of a right glomus jugulare tumor.
