Background And Purpose: Eukaryotic elongation factor 2 kinase (eEF2K) belongs to the Ca/calmodulin-dependent protein kinase family. We previously revealed that A484954, a selective eEF2K inhibitor, caused hypotensive and diuretic effects via the production of nitric oxide (NO) in spontaneously hypertensive rats. Otsuka Long-Evans Tokushima Fatty (OLETF) rats are hypertensive because of obesity and type 2 diabetes.

Despite advances in treatment, the prognosis of osteosarcoma (OS) patients is unsatisfactory, and searching for possible targets is substantial. Fibroblast growth factor inducible type 14 (FN14), a plasma membrane protein, is involved in wound healing, angiogenesis, proliferation, apoptosis, and inflammation. However, its implication in OS development and progression has not been completely characterized.

Background: Spinal muscular atrophy (SMA) is a motor neuron disease caused by mutations in the SMN1 gene. Nusinersen, an antisense oligonucleotide, has been shown to improve motor function in SMA patients. However, concerns regarding its renal safety remain as previous studies have linked similar treatments to renal toxicity.

Several exploratory studies have demonstrated the feasibility of cholecystokinin-2 receptor (CCK2R) targeting in patients with medullary thyroid carcinoma (MTC) and other neuroendocrine tumors (NETs). We report the results of a prospective phase I/IIA pilot study (clinicaltrials.gov NCT06155994) conducted at our center with the Ga-labeled peptide analog DOTA-DGlu-Ala-Tyr-Gly-Trp-(N-Me)Nle-Asp-1-Nal-Phe-NH (Ga-DOTA-MGS5).

Faecal cortisol metabolites (FCMs) are increasingly used to index physiological stress in wildlife. Cortisol and other stress hormones act to mobilize glucose, providing energy for the organism to respond to environmental perturbations. Cortisol, the predominant glucocorticoid (GC) in most mammals, is metabolized by the liver and excreted as FCMs.
