The heterogeneity of tumors and the lack of effective therapies have resulted in triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) exhibiting the least favorable outcomes among breast cancer subtypes. TNBC is characterized by its aggressive nature, often leading to high rates of relapse, metastasis, and mortality. Niclosamide (Nic), an Food and Drug Administration-approved anthelmintic drug, has been repurposed for cancer treatment; however, its application for TNBC is hindered by significant challenges, including strong hydrophobicity, poor aqueous solubility, and low bioavailability.

Calcific aortic valve disease (CAVD) is a considerable health burden with a lack of effective therapeutic options. There is an urgent need to develop interventions that inhibit the osteogenic transformation of valvular interstitial cells (VICs) and delay the calcification process. Niclosamide, an FDA-approved anti-helminthic drug, has emerged as a promising candidate that demonstrates a negative regulatory effect on porcine VICs calcification.

Background: Diabetes mellitus-induced erectile dysfunction (DMED) is a common urological complication of diabetes, and current drugs often fail to provide an effective treatment. Smad2/3 signaling-mediated corporal fibrosis has a critical role in the molecular basis of DMED.
Aim: We investigated the effect of Niclosamide (Nic), an antihelmintic drug with antifibrotic effects, on erectile function in a rat DMED model.

Millions of cases of dengue virus (DENV) infection yearly from mosquitoes stress the need for effective antivirals. No current drug effectively combats dengue efficiently. Transient immunity and severe risks highlight the need for broad-spectrum antivirals targeting all serotypes of DENV.
