2-Methoxyestradiol (2ME) is involved in the pathogenesis of preeclampsia and antitumor activity. In addition to its low concentration in healthy human serum, presence of isomers makes quantification of 2ME for clinical research and laboratory medicine difficult. The objective of this study was to develop a highly sensitive and accurate method for quantifying 2ME using LC-MS/MS combined with derivatization with 1-(2,4-dinitro-5-fluorophenyl)-4,4-dimethylpiperazinium iodide (MPDNP-F).

Immobilizing the target protein on a solid surface with controlled orientation, high specificity, and maintained activity is a proven strategy to enhance the stability of the protein. In this study, we employed an ultra-high affinity protein pair consisting of a mutant of colicin E7 Dnase and its corresponding inhibitor, immunity protein 7(Im7), to develop an immobilized α-adrenoceptor (α-AR) column. Briefly, we expressed α-AR fused with CL7 as a tag at its C-terminus in Escherichia coli cells.

Phthalates, known as phthalate esters (PAEs), are among the most ubiquitous pervasive env7ironmental endocrine disruptors (EEDs), extensively utilized globally in various facets of modern life due to their irreplaceable role as plasticizers. The exponential production and utilization of plastic goods have substantially escalated plastic waste accumulation. Consequently, PAEs have infiltrated the environment, contaminating food and drinking water reservoirs, posing notable threats to human health.

At Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust (MFT), thiopurine metabolites are measured by high performance liquid chromatography with ultraviolet detection (HPLC-UV). Whole blood samples are lysed and subjected to hydrolysis with derivatisation of 6MMP before HPLC-UV detection at 304nm for the 6MMP-derivative and 342nm for 6TG.
