Background And Purpose: Changes in perivascular fat density (PFD) and its association with inflammation have been topics of interest in both atherosclerotic and nonatherosclerotic vasculopathies. The objective of this study was to assess the PFD in patients with spontaneous internal carotid artery dissection (SICAD) or carotid atherosclerotic plaque, with and without intraplaque hemorrhage (IPH).
Materials And Methods: A cross-sectional retrospective bicentric analysis of 130 patients (30 with SICAD and 100 with carotid atherosclerotic plaque) who underwent CT angiography was performed.

Atherosclerosis, a chronic inflammatory condition characterized by plaque formation, often leads to instability, particularly under Type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) conditions, which exacerbate cardiovascular risks. However, the molecular mechanisms underlying this process remain incompletely understood. In this study, we investigated the correlation between acute coronary syndrome (ACS) and serum levels of Nε-carboxyethyl-lysin (CEL), a prominent advanced glycation end product (AGE) elevated in T2DM, in a cohort of 225 patients with coronary artery disease.

Unlabelled: Mitral annular calcification (MAC) is a chronic degenerative process involving the fibrous support structure of the mitral valve. The prevalence of this condition significantly increases with age, and is higher in patients with cardiovascular risk factors or end-stage renal disease. However, patients with systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) may develop atherosclerosis and MAC at a relatively young age.

Background: Effective hemorrhage protocols prioritize immediate hemostatic resuscitation to manage hemorrhagic shock. Prehospital resuscitation using blood products, such as whole blood or alternatively dried plasma in its absence, has the potential to improve outcomes in hemorrhagic shock patients. However, integrating blood products into prehospital care poses substantial logistical challenges due to issues with storage, transport, and administration in field environments.

Spontaneous thrombosis of intracranial aneurysms is rare. Spontaneous regression of unruptured small saccular aneurysms is even more rare. A 76-year-old woman with a history of hypertension and dyslipidemia was referred for evaluation of an unruptured intracranial aneurysm.
