Background: The use of plaque modification techniques during percutaneous coronary interventions (PCI) has increased. However, these procedures are linked to higher contrast volume and hypotensive episodes, which are risk factors for acute kidney injury (AKI). This study examined the effects of various plaque modification techniques on AKI after PCI.

Introduction: In advanced epithelial ovarian cancer (AEOC), debulking surgery with posterior pelvic exenteration (PPE) is performed in 35-70 % of the patients to achieve no macroscopic residual disease. This study aims to evaluate the incidence of mesorectal involvement and its prognostic role in AEOC patients undergoing PPE.
Materials And Methods: This prospective study analyzes data from a cohort of AEOC patients who underwent primary debulking surgery (PDS) or interval debulking surgery (IDS) with PPE at the Léon Bérard Cancer Center in Lyon between 2018 and 2022.

Background: The transanal transection and single-stapled anastomosis (TTSS) is gaining interest as a reconstructive technique whenever a restorative procedure after a total mesorectal excision (TME) is planned. TTSS, allowing lower anastomoses than the conventional DS technique, may raise discussion about its functional outcomes. The aim of this study was to compare long-term functional outcomes of TTSS and DS techniques performed after TME for rectal cancer (RC).

Background: These days, various surgical techniques such as trans-anal, trans-perineal total mesorectal excision, and transvaginal natural orifice transluminal endoscopic surgery have been utilized with flexibility, which was not possible before the laparoscopic era.
Methods: From January 2014 to January 2023, 40 cases of c(yc)T4b rectal cancer underwent local curative surgery laparoscopically at Kansai Medical University Hospital. In 25 consecutive cases, we adopted multiple approaches (trans-anal total mesorectal excision, transvaginal natural orifice transluminal endoscopic surgery, trans-perineal total mesorectal excision, or prone position first abdominoperineal excision) to remove the deepest part of the tumor indicated by MRI last as the specimen-oriented surgery.

Purpose: To describe a case of bilateral large iris pigment epithelial (IPE) cysts causing corneal endothelial dysfunction that was successfully managed with a surgical cyst excision combined with Descemet stripping only (DSO) procedure followed by postoperative rho kinase inhibitor (ROCK-I) administration.
Methods: Case report.
Results: A 27-year-old woman presented with bilateral large IPE cysts adhering to the corneal endothelium, causing endothelial dysfunction with overlying corneal edema.
