Thirty-two patients underwent coronary revascularization with bilateral internal thoracic artery (ITA) grafts. Each patient received 2.7 grafts in average including double ITA grafts. Seventeen patients had the right ITAs as free grafts. The other sixteen were treated with 13 autologous veins and 9 right gastroepiploic arteries in addition. Fifty-five grafts out of 56 (98.2%) were proved to be patent at the time of hospital discharge. The postoperative morbidity included three reoperations for bleeding and one perioperative inferior myocardial infarction. One patient died of colon perforation after surgery and another died of cerebral infarction late after surgery. These results exhibited that coronary artery bypass grafting with bilateral ITA grafts had relatively low risks and could contribute to complete revascularization in patients with diseased coronary arteries.

In nature, organisms living in extreme environmental conditions produce antifreeze proteins (AFPs) that prevent the growth of ice crystals and depress the freezing point of body fluids. In this study, three different peptides derived from the N-terminal sequence of the helical type I AFP HPLC6, along with a stapled derivative produced via on-resin microwave-assisted copper(I)-catalyzed azide-alkyne cycloaddition, were conjugated to gold nanoparticles. The aim of decorating the surface of the nanoparticles with multiple copies of the peptides was to combine the ice-binding capability of the peptides with the size of a nanoparticle, thus, mimicking the protein bulkiness to enhance the peptide antifreeze activity.

This case report describes the treatment of a 9-year-old boy with advanced adrenoleukodystrophy (ALD) who received radioelectric asymmetric conveyer (REAC) neuro-regenerative (RGN-N) therapy after hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT) failed to produce therapeutic benefits. ALD is a devastating neurodegenerative disorder for which limited treatment options exist, and interventions are often ineffective in advanced cases. Post-transplant, the patient's symptoms worsened until REAC RGN-N therapy was introduced.

Objectives: The aims of this study were (1) to compare computed tomography-derived fractional flow reserve (CT-FFR) values with graft patency and (2) to establish the cut-off value of CT-FFR for predicting competitive graft flow after coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG).
