Causal association between gut microbiome and polycystic ovary syndrome: A bidirectional Mendelian randomization study.

Afr J Reprod Health

December 2024

Department of Gynecology and Obstetrics, Affiliated Hospital of Nantong University, Medical School of Nantong University, Nantong 226001, Jiangsu, China.

Through implementing a bidirectional Mendelian randomization (MR) study, the causal effects between gut microbiome and polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) were analyzed. Summary statistics for PCOS were acquired from the FinnGen consortium R8 release data, which included 27,943 cases and 162,936 controls. The inverse-variance weighting (IVW) method was adopted for analysis.

Background/objectives: Host cell protein (HCP) content is a major attribute for biological and vaccine products that must be extensively characterized prior to product licensure. Enzyme Linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA) and Mass Spectrometry (MS) are conventional methods for quantitative host cell protein analysis in biologic and vaccine products. Both techniques are usually very tedious, labor-intensive, and challenging to transfer to other laboratories.

Currently, fabric defect detection methods predominantly rely on CNN models. However, due to the inherent limitations of CNNs, such models struggle to capture long-distance dependencies in images and fail to accurately detect complex defect features. While Transformers excel at modeling long-range dependencies, their quadratic computational complexity poses significant challenges.

Confidence-Guided Frame Skipping to Enhance Object Tracking Speed.

Sensors (Basel)

December 2024

School of Software, Kwangwoon University, Kwangwoon-ro 20, Nowon-gu, Seoul 01897, Republic of Korea.

Object tracking is a challenging task in computer vision. While simple tracking methods offer fast speeds, they often fail to track targets. To address this issue, traditional methods typically rely on complex algorithms.

This paper presents a lens-free imaging approach utilizing an array of light sources, capable of measuring the dielectric properties of many particles simultaneously. This method employs coplanar electrodes to induce velocity changes in flowing particles through dielectrophoretic forces, allowing the inference of individual particle properties from differential velocity changes. Both positive and negative forces are detectable.
