In order to investigate the mechanism of mechanical performance enhancement and the curing mechanisms of acrylate emulsion (AE) in cement and magnesium slag (MS) composite-stabilized soil (AE-C-M), this study has conducted a comprehensive analysis of the compressive strength and microstructural characteristics of AE-C-M stabilized soil. The results show that the addition of AE significantly improves the compressive strength of the stabilized soil. When the AE content is 0.

Spin and valley polarizations (P and P) and tunneling magnetoresistance (TMR) are demonstrated in the ferromagnetic/barrier/normal/barrier/ferromagnetic WSe junction, with the gate voltage and off-resonant circularly polarized light (CPL) applied to the two barrier regions. The minimum incident energy of non-zero spin- and valley-resolved conductance has been derived, which is consistent with numerical calculations and depends on the electric potential U, CPL intensity ΔΩ, exchange field h, and magnetization configuration: parallel (P) or antiparallel (AP). For the P (AP) configuration, the energy region with P = -1 or P = 1 is wider (narrower) and increases with ΔΩ.

Investigating skyrmion stability and core polarity reversal in NdMnGe.

Sci Rep

January 2025

Laboratory for Mesoscopic Systems, Department of Materials, ETH Zurich, 8093, Zurich, Switzerland.

We present a study on nanoscale skyrmionic spin textures in [Formula: see text], a rare-earth complex noncollinear ferromagnet. We confirm, using X-ray microscopy, that [Formula: see text] can host lattices of metastable skyrmion bubbles at room temperature in the absence of a magnetic field, after applying a suitable field cooling protocol. The skyrmion bubbles are robust against temperature changes from room temperature to 330 K.

Alzheimer's disease (AD), the predominant form of dementia, is a neurodegenerative disorder of the central nervous system (CNS) characterized by a subtle onset and a spectrum of cognitive and functional declines. The clinical manifestation of AD encompasses memory deficits, cognitive deterioration, and behavioral disturbances, culminating in a severe impairment of daily living skills. Despite its high prevalence, accounting for 60-70% of all dementia cases, there remains an absence of curative therapeutics.

Supramolecular Assembly Enhanced Linear and Nonlinear Chiroptical Properties of Chiral Manganese Halides.

Angew Chem Int Ed Engl

December 2024

School of Materials Science and Engineering, Tianjin Key Laboratory of Metal and Molecular Materials Chemistry, Frontiers Science Center for New Organic Matter, Nankai University, Tongyan Road 38, Tianjin, 300350, P. R. China.

Chiral hybrid organic-inorganic metal halides (HOMHs) hold great promise in broad applications ranging from ferroelectrics, spintronics to nonlinear optics, owing to their broken inversion symmetry and tunable chiroptoelectronic properties. Typically, chiral HOMHs are constructed by chiral organic cations and metal anion polyhedra, with the latter regarded as optoelectronic active units. However, the primary design approaches are largely constrained to regulation of general components within structural formula.
