Sheeppox and Goatpox are highly contagious transboundary viral diseases of sheep and goats caused by Capripoxvirus, respectively. This study describes the development of indirect ELISA and its serodiagnostic potential as an alternative to the gold standard serum neutralization test (SNT). The homologue of vaccinia virus, ORF 117 (A27L) gene of the Romanian Fenner (RF) strain of Sheeppox virus (SPPV) was used for producing the full-length recombinant A27L (rA27L) protein (∼22 kDa) in a prokaryotic expression system.

Background: This is the first study to examine a cohort that engages in the practice of immunization with snake venoms. In this practice, either fresh wet venom or venom reconstituted from freeze-dried form is used in vaccination protocols to produce hyper-immunity to venom.
Methods: This is a retrospective community-initiated collaborative research (CICR) project that collated the records of venom immunization.

Background: Multisystem inflammatory syndrome in children (MIS-C) is a severe post-COVID condition due to a delayed hyperimmune response to SARS-CoV-2. High-density lipoproteins (HDL) are pivotal players in inflammatory and immune modulation through the remodeling of their subfractions.
Methods: This study aimed to evaluate serum levels of cholesterol, HDL, and HDL subfractions (HDL-SUB) to define their role in the pathogenesis of MIS-C and their potential use as biomarkers of this condition.

The management of anticoagulation and antiplatelet therapy in stage V chronic kidney disease (CKD) patients undergoing renal transplantation remains controversial. Some centers advocate for the use of reversal agents or procoagulants preoperatively, while others suggest that transplantation can proceed safely without halting these treatments. This study aims to evaluate the incidence of hemorrhagic and thrombotic complications in the first 72 hours post-transplant in patients receiving anticoagulant or antiplatelet therapy compared to a control group without such treatments.

Campylobacter infections are a prevalent cause of diarrheal disease in humans and are the most significant zoonotic pathogens worldwide. Human campylobacteriosis is generally via ingestion of contaminated poultry products. However, based on recent studies chicken egg yolk antibody (IgY) powder has great potential to reduce the cecum load of Campylobacter jejuni (C.
