Lymphatic plastic bronchitis: a study based on CT and MR lymphangiography.

BMC Med Imaging

December 2024

Department of Radiology, Beijing Shijitan Hospital, Capital Medical University, Yangfangdian Tieyiyuan Road No.10, Haidian District, Beijing, 100038, China.

Objectives: To investigate the diagnostic value of CT lymphangiography (CTL) and non-contrast MR lymphangiography (MRL) in lymphatic plastic bronchitis.

Materials And Methods: The clinical and imaging data of 31 patients with lymphatic plastic bronchitis diagnosed by clinical, imaging and pathological results were retrospectively analyzed. All patients underwent CTL and MRL.

To assess the efficacy of magnetic resonance (MR) lymphography with gadobutrol contrast for sentinel lymph node (SLN) mapping in early-stage oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC). This pilot study compared the identification of SLNs by MR lymphography using a gadolinium-based contrast agent (gadobutrol) to conventional [Tc]Tc-nanocolloid lymphoscintigraphy (including single-photon emission computed tomography/computed tomography (SPECT/CT)) in 10 early-stage OSCC patients undergoing SLN biopsy. The patients initially underwent conventional lymphoscintigraphy following the peritumoral administration of indocyanine green [Tc]Tc-nanocolloid (120 megabecquerel; ~0.

Purpose: To report outcomes, procedure and fluoroscopy times, and adverse event rates after intranodal lymphangiography (IL) and modified IL (mIL) for treatment of traumatic chylous leaks in the thorax and neck.

Methods: Under an IRB-approved protocol, retrospective review of a quality assurance database identified all lymphangiograms for post-surgical refractory chylous leaks in the thorax and neck at a tertiary center from 2002-2022. Records were reviewed for technical and clinical outcomes, procedure and fluoroscopy times, and adverse events.

Background: Sentinel lymph node biopsy (SLNB) is an important cancer diagnostic staging procedure. Conventional SLNB procedures with Tc radiotracers and scintigraphy are constrained by tracer half-life and, in some cases, insufficient image resolution. Here, we explore an alternative magnetic (nonradioactive) image-guided SLNB procedure.

Article Synopsis
  • This study examined acquired lymphangiectasia of the vulva (ALV) by retrospectively analyzing clinical data from patients treated at a hospital over 14 years, focusing on their characteristics, diagnosis, and treatment outcomes.* -
  • Out of 48 patients with ALV, 10 underwent staged surgical operations, including labiectomy and lymphatic procedures, with evaluations conducted to track improvements in symptoms like swelling and fluid leakage.* -
  • The findings indicated a median age of 60 years among patients, most having a history of pelvic malignancies and radiotherapy, with common symptoms like blisters and lymphatic obstruction observed through imaging studies.*
