Optimization algorithms play a crucial role in solving complex problems across various fields, including global optimization and feature selection (FS). This paper presents the enhanced polar lights optimization with cryptobiosis and differential evolution (CPLODE), a novel improvement upon the original polar lights optimization (PLO) algorithm. CPLODE integrates a cryptobiosis mechanism and differential evolution (DE) operators to enhance PLO's search capabilities.

With the development of intelligent technology, data in practical applications show exponential growth in quantity and scale. Extracting the most distinguished attributes from complex datasets becomes a crucial problem. The existing attribute reduction approaches focus on the correlation between attributes and labels without considering the redundancy.

Unlabelled: The global prevalence of sedentary lifestyles and the associated health risks, such as cardiovascular, metabolic and mental issues, is an epidemic worldwide problem, particularly in the university population.
Background/objectives: University students are particularly vulnerable because of academic pressure and lifestyle changes. Despite the well-known benefits of physical activity in reducing mental stress and improving physical and mental well-being, the literature lacks effective interventions and standardized protocols for this population.

The consistency regularization method is a widely used semi-supervised method that uses regularization terms constructed from unlabeled data to improve model performance. Poor-quality target predictions in regularization terms produce noisy gradient flows during training, resulting in a degradation in model performance. Recent semi-supervised methods usually filter out low-confidence target predictions to alleviate this problem, but also prevent the model from learning features from unlabeled data in low-confidence regions.

Globally, diabetes mellitus (DM) and its complications are considered among the most significant public health problems. According to numerous scientific studies, Plants and their bioactive compounds may reduce inflammation and oxidative stress (OS), leading to a reduction in the progression of DM. Moringa oleifera (MO), widely used in Ayurvedic and Unani medicine for centuries because of its health-promoting characteristics, particularly its ability to control DM and its related complications.
