In this paper, we present an original radiocirculographic method for investigates of cerebral blood flow, which has proven to be very useful, simple, and efficient for studies of brain hemodynamics. Physical considerations on injected radioactive tracer in cardiovascular system, allowed us to state a relationship for the blood flux, F, valued as the amount of fluid-blood that traverses a vascular segment in unit time. All these theoretical facts, along with a host of remarkable clinical results, are presented in a doctoral thesis entitled "The cerebral Hemodynamics in Essential Hypertension and Arteriosclerosis" of the eminent doctor Ioan Mures,an, who died in 1984, at only 50 years old.

The set is designed for operation with all colimators of radiocirculographs produced in the USSR and Hungarian People's Republic. The set is able to imitate the investigation geometry, accumulation of radioactivity in the organ under study, absorption and scattering of radioactivty in the organism tissues.

Various well-known agents with a favourable influence on cerebral circulation were used as a basis for creating new methods to asses the effects on this vascular region in experimental animals. A technique was worked out for radiocirculography and simultaneous radiometry, as well as for scanning and simultaneous radiometry of cat brain. Radiocirculography, followed by scintigraphy, proved to be among the best methods used for assessment of the effect of As2 on cerebral circulation.

The effect of ethyl apovincaminate (RGH-4405, Cavinton) on cerebral circulation has been studied with radiocirculography (rc) in 12 healthy individuals and 17 patients suffering from cerebrovascular diseases. It was shown that acute Cavinton effect produced prolongation of circulation time both in healthy individuals and in more than half of our patients. Shortening of circulation time was observed in one case.
