Immunomodulatory drug (IMiD) resistance is a key clinical challenge in myeloma treatment. Previous data suggests almost one third of myeloma patients acquire mutations in the key IMiD effector cereblon by the time they are pomalidomide refractory. Some events, including stop codons/frameshift mutations and copy loss, having clearly explicable effects on cereblon function.

Intrinsically disordered proteins and protein regions are central to many biological processes but difficult to characterize at atomic resolution. Nuclear magnetic resonance is particularly well-suited for providing structural and dynamical information on intrinsically disordered proteins, but existing NMR methodologies need to be constantly refined to provide greater sensitivity and resolution, particularly to capitalise on the potential of high magnetic fields to investigate large proteins. In this paper, we describe how N-detected 2D NMR experiments can be optimised for better performance.

Bone Marrow Aspiration Concentrate in the Treatment of Osteoarthritis: A Review of its Current Clinical Application.

Tissue Eng Regen Med

January 2025

Department of Orthopaedics, Dongguk University Ilsan Hospital, Dongguk-Ro 27, Goyang, Republic of Korea.

Background: Bone marrow aspiration concentrate (BMAC) has gained acceptance as a safe orthobiologic for treating osteoarthritis (OA), despite lacking robust supporting evidence. Although several publications have documented the use of BMAC in OA, evidence confirming its unequivocal efficacy remains limited.

Methods: This review aims to summarize the current clinical evidence regarding BMAC as a therapeutic for OA, while also presenting the author's perspective.

Anti-TMV activity based flavonol derivatives containing piperazine sulfonyl: Design, synthesis and mechanism study.

Mol Divers

January 2025

State Key Laboratory of Green Pesticide, Center for R&D of Fine Chemicals, Guizhou University, Guiyang, 550025, China.

A series of flavonoid derivatives containing piperazine sulfonate were designed and synthesized. The results of antiviral experiments in vivo showed that some target compounds had good inhibitory effect on tobacco mosaic virus (TMV). The EC values of S15 and S19 curative activity were 174.

Background: High temperature is a critical environmental factor leading to mass mortality in oyster aquaculture in China. Recent advancements highlight the physiological regulation function of γ-aminobutyric acid (GABA) in the adaptation of environmental stress.

Methods And Results: This study examined the physiological responses of the Pacific oyster (Crassostrea gigas) upon high temperature exposure, focusing on the histopathological changes in gill, the GABA concentration, the mRNA expression and activities of apoptosis-related genes.
