Intraoperative bleeding poses a substantial challenge, particularly in neuro-spine surgeries leading to complications such as hematomas, infections, and hemodynamic instability. Despite their proven efficacy, use of topical hemostatic agents (THAs) lacks comprehensive published literature and guidelines particularly in the Indian setting. The present study provides the first-ever Indian expert panel recommendations for effective adjunct THA use in different intraoperative bleeding sites and situations in neuro-spine surgeries.

The pituitary gland, a puzzling medical subject up until the 20th century, had its early pathologies first documented in the 19th century by Pierre Marie and Hutchinson, where the gland's meaningful study was hindered by its hard-to-reach location. This paper revisits the pioneering work of Romanian doctors such as Gheorghe Marinescu, Nicolae Paulescu, and Grigore T. Popa in surgical techniques targeting the pituitary gland.

Background: Electrolyte abnormalities, especially hypernatremia, are frequent complications after transsphenoidal hypophysectomy in dogs with pituitary-dependent hypercortisolism.
Objectives: To describe electrolyte abnormalities after transsphenoidal hypophysectomy and to investigate possible associations between postoperative hypernatremia and clinical and surgical variables as well as with postoperative outcome.
Animals: One hundred and twenty-seven client-owned dogs.

Purpose: Sinking of the diaphragma sellae (DS) may stretch the pituitary stalk, which in turn impairs neurohypophyseal function; thus, it may play a role in the development of postoperative hyponatremia. We aimed to assess the factors influencing the development of hyponatremia after transsphenoidal surgery (TSS) for pituitary adenomas and analyze the effect of DS sinking on hyponatremia.
Methods: After applying the inclusion and exclusion criteria, we retrospectively analyzed the clinical data of patients with pituitary adenoma who underwent TSS.
