Nontumorigenic clone FR-7 cl 13 from fibroblasts of athymic rat was obtained from stroma of human colon carcinoma xenograft propagated on nude animals. Spontaneous transformation of this cells was absent after 40 passages in vitro and treatment with pSV2neo. But cells give rise to tumors in athymic mice after transfection with pEJ. This cell clone can be recommended as cells-targets for transfection.

Purpose: This study aimed to evaluate a novel technique for cell tracking by visualising the activity of the human sodium/iodide symporter (hNIS) after transplantation of hNIS-expressing multilayered cell sheets in a rat model of chronic myocardial infarction.
Methods: Triple-layered cell sheets were generated from mouse embryonic fibroblasts (MEFs) derived from mice overexpressing hNIS (hNIS-Tg). Myocardial infarction was induced by permanent ligation of the left anterior descending coronary artery in F344 athymic rats, and a triple-layered MEFs sheets were transplanted to the infarcted area two weeks after surgery.

The current study was a preliminary evaluation of the feasibility and biologic features of three-dimensionally bio-printed tissue-engineered (3D bio-printed) vascular grafts comprising dermal fibroblast spheroids for venous replacement in rats and swine. The scaffold-free tubular tissue was made by the 3D bio-printer with normal human dermal fibroblasts. The tubular tissues were implanted into the infrarenal inferior vena cava of 4 male F344-rnu/rnu athymic nude rats and the short-term patency and histologic features were analyzed.

The reparative properties of amniotic membrane allografts are well-suited for a broad spectrum of specialties. Further enhancement of their utility can be achieved by designing to the needs of each application through the development of novel processing techniques and tissue configurations. As such, this study evaluated the material characteristics and biological properties of two PURION processed amniotic membrane products, a lyophilized human amnion, intermediate layer, and chorion membrane (LHACM) and a dehydrated human amnion, chorion membrane (DHACM).

Background: constitutes, in its most simplified form, a cellularized spheroid built around and stabilised by a form of primitive extracellular matrix (ECM).
Methods: We developed a modular approach to soft tissue engineering, by compact stacking V. -based building blocks.

Murine syngeneic tumor models have been used extensively for cancer research for several decades and have been instrumental in driving the discovery and development of cancer immunotherapies. These tumor models are very simplistic cancer models, but recent reports have, however, indicated that the different inoculated cancer cell lines can lead to the formation of unique tumor microenvironments (TMEs). To gain more knowledge from studies based on syngeneic tumor models, it is essential to obtain an in-depth understanding of the cellular and molecular composition of the TME in the different models.
