The present paper examines how the sex-role orientation of the nurse can affect both positive and negative assertion. The Bem Sex-Role Inventory (BRSI) and the Assertion Inventory (AI) were used to collect self-reported data from a convenience sample of 94 subjects. Behavioral data were obtained by directly sampling 50 nurses' responses within role-play situations. Contrary to earlier studies, the findings of the investigation indicated that there was no significant relationship between assertion measurements and sex-role orientation. Following a discussion of the findings, recommendations relating to future research are made and the limitations of the study are identified.

Background: Syringe services programs (SSP) are evidence-based venues offering harm reduction services to persons who inject drugs (PWID), such as sterile syringes, STI/HIV testing, and linkage to care to decrease drug use-related morbidities and mortalities. Adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) have been linked with reduced resilience, while increased resilience can help PWID attend SSPs. This study examined the potential mediating role of resilience between ACEs and SSP attendance among PWID.

Background: Health inequalities can affect access and uptake to pulmonary rehabilitation (PR). An individual's protected characteristics (age, disability, gender reassignment, marriage and civil partnership, pregnancy and maternity, race, religion or belief, sex and sexual orientation) may contribute to health inequalities. Healthcare professionals (HCPs) experiences of the inclusivity and representativeness of PR services and knowledge of protected characteristics are unknown, however are vital for the identification and resolution of health inequalities.

Objective: Previous research has found that momentary positive affect precedes alcohol use, whereas results have been more mixed for negative affect.
Method: This study replicates and builds upon this literature by using a heavy drinking sample, half lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, queer/questioning, and other minoritized sexual and gender identities (LGBTQ+) individuals.
Results: This study found that positive affect was related to subsequent alcohol use, but the relation was weaker for LGBTQ+ individuals compared to cisgender-straight individuals.

In our society, as well as in many other parts of the world, sexuality is shaped through gender-differentiated socialization. This process compels individuals to align their desires, behaviors, emotions, and thoughts with the expectations of normative sexuality, especially hegemonic heterosexuality. The primary objective of this current research was to examine the influence of hegemonic masculinity on the sexuality of men struggling with addiction.

Objectives: This study explores whether sex differences in reactive aggression (RA) and proactive aggression (PA) are attributable to sex, gender role orientation, or their interaction and explores the neuroanatomical characteristics of these sex differences.
Methods: In a sample of 108 males and 126 females, we examined the sex-by-gender role orientation interaction on RA, PA, and brain gray matter volume (GMV). Then, we explored the relationship between aggression and regional GMV.
