The inflammatory process is proposed to be one of the factors to benign prostatic enlargement (BPH), and this is the first study examining the anti-inflammatory ability of phloretin in treating rats with testosterone-induced BPH. BPH would be induced by testosterone (10 mg/kg/day testosterone subcutaneously for 28 days), and the other groups of rats were treated with phloretin 50 mg/kg/day or 100 mg/kg/day orally (phr50 or phr100 group) after induction. Prostate weight and prostate weight to body weight ratio were significantly reduced in the Phr100 group.

Immune hepatic injury is a liver disease closely related to an immune imbalance of T cells and macrophages. Our previous series of studies have demonstrated that taraxasterol isolated from possesses great anti-inflammatory and immunomodulatory effects and . In this study, we explored the preventive effects of taraxasterol and its underlying mechanisms on concanavalin A (Con A)-induced acute hepatic injury in mice.

Objective: To study the effect of glutamine-supplemented enteral nutrition in regulating the apoptosis of intestinal mucosal cells and promoting mucosal healing in young rats with inflammatory bowl disease (IBD).

Methods: A total of 80 male Sprague-Dawley rats aged 4-5 weeks were randomly divided into 4 groups: blank control, IBD model, short peptide, and short peptide+glutamine (n=20 each). The IBD model was prepared by a single colon perfusion of 3-nitrobenzene sulfonic acid.

To investigate the effect of medicated thread moxibustion onapoptosis in hippocampal neuronsin a rat model of chronic cerebral ischemic vascular dementia. A total of 40 male Wistar rats were randomly divided into normal group and sham-operated group (7 rats each), and rat model of chronic cerebral ischemic vascular dementia (14 rats). The model group rats were treated with medicated thread moxibustion two weeks after surgery, once a day, with one day break every six days, (24 times in all)and an observation period of 4 weeks.

To study the effect and related mechanism of IL-21 alone and in combination with 5-Fluorouracil on the proliferation and growth, transferability, and apoptosis of gastric cancer cells, we cultivated gastric cancer cell SGC-7901 and created four experimental groups with varying concentrations of IL-21 and 5-Fluorouracil: IL-21 group (IL-21 100ng/ml), semi-combination group (5-Fluorouracil 25μg/ml+IL-21 100ng/ml), 5-Fluorouracil group (5-Fluorouracil 50μg/ml), and combination group (5-Fluorouracil 50μg/ml+IL-21 100ng/ml). The MTT (3-(4, 5)-dimethylthiahiazo (-z-y1)-3, 5-di- phenytetrazoliumromide) assay was used to detect the inhibitory effect of each group on the proliferation and growth of gastric cancer cells. A scratch-wound assay was carried out to detect the inhibitory effect of each group on transferability.
