Objectives: Platelet transfusion refractoriness (PTR) is a frustrating clinical problem, and primary and persistent (P/P) PTR who experienced persistent PTR since the first transfusion was failed to be well recognized. This study aims to investigate the incidence and risk factors for P/P PTR.
Methods: Patients with hematologic disorders who underwent HLA high-resolution genotyping and donor-specific HLA antibody or panel reactive antibody (PRA) testing between January 2019 and March 2023 were reviewed.

Purpose: This study describes the experience of parents of children with developmental and epileptic encephalopathies (DEE) and how the disease impacts their daily lives.
Materials And Methods: A descriptive qualitative study was conducted using purposeful sampling. Twenty-one parents of children with DEEs caused by SCN1A, KCNQ2, CDKL5, PCDH19, and GNAO1 variants were included.

Children use nasogastric tubes (NGTs) to ensure optimum nutrition and medication delivery when oral feeding fails or when they experience faltering growth. Although this method is less invasive, children may experience complications associated with NGTs. There is a gap in the literature regarding the types and prevention of complications of NGTs in the pediatric population at home.

Background: Globally, there has been an explosive rise in the cesarean section rate that exceeds the World Health Organization rate of 10-15% and in the past fifteen years the rates was doubled in some countries including Ethiopia. Therefore, it is essential to recognize the current magnitude and the factors that contribute to increasing cesarean section rates beyond the World Health Organization recommendations and specifically in the study areas.
Objective: This study aimed to assess the magnitude of cesarean sections and its associated factors among mothers who gave birth in public hospitals in East Wollega Zone, Oromia Ethiopia 2022.

Background: Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis (JIA) is a chronic pediatric illness, whereby youth experience physical, emotional and psychosocial challenges that result in reduced health related quality of life (HRQL). Peer mentoring has been shown to improve disease self-management in adults with chronic conditions, with mixed results in younger populations. Building on our pilot work - which supported the feasibility and initial effectiveness of the iPeer2Peer program - the objective of this study was to assess the clinical effectiveness of the program in youth with JIA through a waitlist randomized controlled trial.
