Appendiceal mucinous neoplasms are rare and can be easily misdiagnosed as adnexal masses. Fertility is a concern in cases requiring cytoreductive surgery involving the ovaries and if hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy is considered. We present the case of a 35-year-old patient with primary infertility who was suspected to have a hematosalpinx on ultrasonography and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) but was found to have an appendiceal mucinous neoplasm on laparoscopy.

This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of the embryonic injection of silver nanoparticles (SilNPs) on some productive traits and hepatic gene expression of lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-challenged broilers after a 42 d rearing period. 560 fertile eggs were randomly allocated to four groups and received either of the following treatments at d 7 of incubation, control (no injection), placebo (1 mL saline), SilNP20 (20 mg/kg silver nanoparticles), or SilNP40 (40 mg/kg silver nanoparticles). After the incubation, 320 hatchlings experienced a 42 d standard rearing period.

The aim of the present study was to evaluate the protective effect of gallic acid (GA) against cisplatin (CDDP)-induced ovarian toxicity, for the first time. The ovarian damage was generated with CDDP (5 mg/kg) intraperitoneally (i.p.

Liver organoids (LOs) are receiving considerable attention for their potential use in drug screening, disease modeling, and transplantable constructs. Hepatocytes, as the key component of LOs, are isolated from the liver or differentiated from pluripotent stem cells (PSCs). PSC-derived hepatocytes are preferable because of their availability and scalability.

The intraperitoneal administration of chemotherapeutics has emerged as a potential route in ovarian cancer treatment. Nanoparticles as carriers for these agents could be interesting by increasing the retention of chemotherapeutics within the peritoneal cavity. Moreover, nanoparticles could be internalised by cancer cells and let the drug release near the biological target, which could increase the anticancer efficacy.
