Conductometric, potentiometric and cyclic voltammetric (CV) titration methods are proposed for determination of oxytetracycline (OTC), commonly used in veterinary. The electrochemical titration of OTC hydrochloride with NH(4)Mo(7)O(24), NaVO(3), NaOH, AgNO(3) and FeCl(3) as titrants are reported. The proposed methods were found to be highly precise, having a relative standard deviation (R.S.D.) below 1.0%. Proposed electrochemical titrations were successfully applied to the assay of commercial preparations: Tetrox, Tetramutin OT and Neox, containing the above-mentioned antibiotics. The validity of the methods was tested by the recovery studies of standard addition to pharmaceuticals and results were found to be satisfactory.

The misuse of tetracycline in livestock farming leads to environmental residues that promote the proliferation of antibiotic resistance genes (ARGs), particularly tetracycline resistance (tet) genes. Black soldier fly (BSF) larvae, used for organic waste bioconversion, may carry tetracycline residues in their guts, raising concerns about ARG spread. To address this issue, plant-derived additives such as lavender essential oil (LEO) have been explored as alternative antibiotics.

A variety of phytochemicals from different plants are collected by bees into bee pollen granules. This research focused on evaluating the effects of lactic acid fermentation and enzymatic hydrolysis on the antibacterial activity of bee pollen and its interaction with antibiotics. There is limited knowledge regarding the interactions between treated bee pollen extracts and antibiotics, and this study contributes to the field by providing new insights into the antibacterial activity of pollen subjected to eight distinct treatment methods.

: We set out to evaluate the persistence of sulfachloropyridazine, oxytetracycline, and enrofloxacin in broiler chicken litter following therapeutic oral treatment and its association with the isolation of resistant to these antimicrobials. : Forty broiler chickens were raised under controlled conditions and divided into three experimental groups, each treated with a different antimicrobial, in addition to an untreated/control group. Litter samples were collected post treatment, analyzed by UPLC-MS/MS, and processed for the isolation of .

Oxytetracycline (OTC), an approved antibiotic for aquaculture, is under strict control and regulatory endeavour. This study compared the effects of oral administration of graded doses of OTC comprising the therapeutic (80 mg/kg biomass/day), subtherapeutic (40 mg) and overdoses (240, 400 and 800 mg) in male Nile tilapia Oreochromis niloticus fries (0.64 ± 0.

This study was conducted to detect the occurrence and phenotypic resistance pattern of extended spectrum beta-lactamase (ESBL)-producing Enterobacteriaceae in livestock using docking-based analysis to reveal the classes of antibiotics against which ESBL-producers are active. Rectal swabs from healthy cattle (n = 100), goats (n = 88), and pigs (n = 66) were collected from backyard farms in Andaman and Nicobar Island (India). In total, 304 isolates comprising Escherichia coli (131), Salmonella (75), and Klebsiella pneumoniae (98) were recovered.
