Background: Previous studies demonstrated the effectiveness and safety of tranexamic acid (TXA) in several surgical specialties. Recent publications suggested that TXA may also be beneficial in plastic surgery, including breast procedures.
Objective: The aim of this study is to evaluate the impact of TXA in reduction mammaplasty by assessing several intraoperative and postoperative outcomes and the safety of its administration.
Background: VY-TAU01 is a recombinant humanized IgG4 monoclonal antibody (mAb) directed against pathological tau for the treatment of patients with mild dementia or mild cognitive impairment due to Alzheimer's disease (AD). Both VY-TAU01 and its parental mouse IgG1 mAb Ab-01 target an epitope in the C-terminus of tau, bind pathological tau with high affinity and selectivity over wild-type tau, block paired helical filament seed-induced tau aggregates in vitro, and selectively stain tau tangles in AD and P301S mouse (C57/B6J-Tg[Thy1-MAPT*P301S]2541Godt) brain. Ab-01 robustly inhibits seeding and propagation of pathological tau in a P301S mouse seeding model.

Variants in the granulin gene (GRN) that cause a reduction of PGRN in plasma and cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) are associated with an increased risk of Alzheimer's disease (AD). The sortilin receptor (SORT1) on neurons and microglia regulates PGRN degradation.

Objective: Frusemide is a common diuretic administered to critically ill children intravenously, by either continuous infusion (CI) or intermittent bolus (IB). We aim to describe the characteristics of children who receive intravenous frusemide, patterns of use, and incidence of acute kidney injury (AKI), and to investigate factors associated with commencing CI.
Design: Retrospective observational study.

Objective: Acute unilateral peripheral vestibulopathy or vestibular neuritis (AUPV/VN) manifests as acute onset vertigo, often accompanied by nausea, vomiting, and moderate gait instability. It is suspected when vestibular hypofunction is documented on video-head impulse (video-HITs) and caloric tests in the presence of contralesionally beating horizontal-torsional nystagmus. Herein, we report patients presenting with acute vestibular syndrome (AVS) showing selective otolithic dysfunction in the presence of normal caloric and video-HITs and abnormal enhancement of the peripheral vestibular structures on MRI.
