Objective: The purpose of this study was to observe the behavior of bone formation around the titanium-hollow porous cylinder implant composed of bovine bone morphogentic protein(bBMP).

Methods: Porous-hollow cylinder titanium implant composed of bBMP was implanted into mandibule of dogs. Multiple fluorescent was labeled at different times and then LSCM was used to observe the newly formed bone around the complex implant.

Results: The newly formed bone around the complex implant in experimental group was more obvious than that in other groups.

Conclusion: Earlier, longer and more new-bone formation can be induced by porous-hollow cylinder titanium implant composed of bBMP, and LSCM is an effective method to observe new bone formation around implant.

Artificial bone, primarily composed of calcium carbonate, demonstrates a higher resorption rate than calcium phosphate-based counterparts, suggesting potential for early bone replacement. Animal experiments using porous calcium carbonate ceramics have demonstrated bone formation superior to commercially available artificial bone after short-term implantation. Long-term implantation has yielded suboptimal results owing to resorption of both newly formed bone and implantation material.

Diabetes prevalence continues to increase as a result of people's increasing sugar intake. Diabetes mellitus and its complications (dry skin, constipation, depression, and dental caries), as well as the prohibition of sweets ingestion, seriously affect patients' physical and mental health. Therefore, it is crucial to develop a long-term food for special medical purposes (FSMP) that aids in managing diabetes and its complications.

The effective prevention and treatment of anastomotic leakage after intestinal anastomosis for colorectal diseases is still a major clinical challenge. In order to assist intestinal anastomosis healing and avoid anastomotic leakage caused by high tension, low blood supply or infection, we designed a double-layer nanofiber intestinal anastomosis scaffold, which was composed of electrospun PTMC/PHA nanofibers as the main layer, and electrospun PVA/OHA-Gs nanofibers with antibacterial properties as the antibacterial surface layer. This double-layer scaffold has good toughness, its maximum tensile force value could reach 8 N, elongation could reach 400 %, and it has hydrophilic properties, and its contact angle was about 60°.

Monitoring deep wounds is challenging but necessary for high-quality medical treatment. Current methodologies for deep wound monitoring are typically limited to indirect clinical symptoms or costly non-real-time imaging diagnosis. Herein, a smart system is proposed that enables in situ monitoring of deep wounds' status through a semi-implantable device composed of 2 seamlessly connected functional components: 1) the well-designed, microchannel-structured sampling needles that efficiently and conveniently collect samples from deep wound anatomical locations, and 2) the multiplex biochemical testing compartment that facilitates the immediate and persistent detection of multiple biochemical indicators based on a color image processing software accessible to a conventional smartphone.
