The intakes of selected food groups in former East and West Germany were compared, based on data from the dietary surveys of the MONICA project Erfurt 1987 and of the MONICA project Augsburg 1984/85. Three-day records from 132 middle-aged men from the city of Erfurt (response 73%) and 3-day records from 424 middle-aged men from the city of Augsburg (response 70%) could be included in the comparison. The differences in the consumption of animal products were rather small. The intake of bread and baked goods, potatoes and cooked vegetables was higher in Erfurt, whereas the intake of raw vegetables was lower. The most striking differences appeared in the consumption of fat.

Copper ions (Cu) play a crucial role in biological processes; however, excessive intake can result in severe health problems. Current methods for detecting copper ions are both expensive and complex. Therefore, there is a need for efficient and straightforward visual detection methods.

Unlabelled: Rationale: Human aging is accompanied by various somatic diseases that increase the biological age and reduce the period of active longevity. For the development of effective methods of premature aging prevention it is necessary to expand the search of predictors of forming pathological reactions, their system analysis and selection of the factors of influence capable to activate the processes of sanogenesis.

Objective: System analysis of pathological changes in various functional systems of the organism, formed in the process of ontogenesis, and evaluation of the effectiveness of the preventive potential of polymodal physiotherapy in terms of preserving the level of health in elderly patients.

Telomere length has been related to human health and ageing in multiple studies. However, these studies have analyzed a small set of variables, according to pre-formulated hypotheses. We used data from NHANES 1999-2002 to perform a preregistered cross-sectional analysis.

Background: Precision nutrition-based methods develop tailored interventions and/or recommendations accounting for determinants of intra- and inter-individual variation in response to the same diet, compared to current 'one-size-fits-all' population-level approaches. Determinants may include genetics, current dietary habits and eating patterns, circadian rhythms, health status, gut microbiome, socioeconomic and psychosocial characteristics, and physical activity. In this systematic review, we examined the evidence base for the effect of interventions based on precision nutrition approaches on overweight and obesity in children and adolescents to help inform future research and global guidelines.
