AI Article Synopsis

  • The study aimed to analyze the effectiveness of different diagnostic methods for H pylori infection using evidence-based medicine principles.
  • Researchers selected 22 relevant studies and conducted a meta-analysis, focusing on five diadynamic methods used in China for detecting H pylori.
  • The findings revealed that polymerase chain reaction (PCR) exhibited the highest accuracy (98.47%) and sensitivity (99.03%) among the tested methods for diagnosing H pylori infection.

Article Abstract

Aim: To synthetically analyze and probe into the diagnosis of H pylori infection, we followed the principles of evidence-based medicine.

Methods: A total of 22 papers of prevalence survey and case-control studies were selected for studying about diadynamic methods. Using meta-analysis, we analyzed the different diadynamic methods of H pylori in China.

Results: Through meta-analysis, among the five diadynamic methods, the accuracy of polymerase chain reaction (PCR) was the highest (98.47%) and PCR was the most sensitive method (Sp: 99.03%).

Conclusion: Among the five diadynamic methods, the accuracy of PCR is the highest and PCR is the most sensitive method to diagnose the infection of H pylori.

The study investigated touch and pain sensations and the correlation between them in diadynamic current (DD) and transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation (TENS), electrotherapies commonly applied in musculoskeletal disorders and occupational rehabilitation medicine. Forty healthy subjects were treated with either DD (n=20) or TENS (n=20). Each treatment consisted of three sessions with one-week interval.

Background: Hyperuricemia is the only biochemical index in the classification of acute gouty arthritis in American Rheumatism Association 1977 and the main basis of clinical diagnosis for most doctors. However, nearly half of the time gout occurs without hyperuricemia, especially in an acute attack, which leads to an urgent need to find a new substitute diadynamic criteria of gout. Xanthine and hypoxanthine, as precursors of uric acid, have been reported to be high in gout patients with hyperuricemia and presumed to be gout biomarkers.

Background And Design: Chronic nonspecific low back pain (CNSLBP) has major socioeconomic as well as personal impact in many industrialized and developing countries. Physiotherapy is a common intervention for this group of patients and using anti-pain physical modalities is a common part of the physical therapy. In a randomized controlled trial we investigated the immediate effect of the Diadynamic current in comparison to TENS on reducing the pain in patients suffering from non specific chronic low back pain.

Objective: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effect of combined manual therapy (MT) and diadynamic (DD) currents on myofascial trigger points of the upper trapezius muscle in individuals with a diagnosis of unilateral shoulder impingement syndrome.

Methods: A randomized clinical trial was conducted involving 60 individuals with shoulder impingement syndrome who were allocated to the following 3 groups: (1) MT and DD currents (MTDD), (2) MT alone, and (3) DD currents alone. The participants were submitted to 16 treatment sessions over an 8-week period and were evaluated using the Numerical Rating Pain Scale as well as the pain and disability subscales of the Shoulder Pain and Disability Index.
