Published: November 2003

Objective: To investigate the clinical result of knee osteoarthritis after high tibial osteotomy (HTO) in long term follow-up.

Methods: 107 patients of knee joint osteoarthritis performed with high tibial osteoarthritis between 1983 and 2000 was followed up. Standing anteroposterior radiograph of knee were taken for every patient.

Results: The clinical results of 137 knees (88%) were rated as good at 1 to 5 years follow-up. 21 knees were good at 5 to 10 years follow-up. And 5 knees were good at lest 10 years follow-up. Only one patient was done TKA 8 year after HTO.

Conclusions: The patients done HTO show excellent clinical results in short time follow-up. And the results of most patients was maintained in intermediate and long-term follow-up. The internal fixition allow patients early activity and recover quickly.

Introduction: This review aims to synthesise research evidence regarding biomarkers in the synovial fluid that may predict the risk of post-traumatic osteoarthritis (PTOA) in young adults. Considering the high prevalence of knee joint injuries, particularly among youth sports athletes, this review will focus on anterior cruciate ligament and/or meniscal ruptures. These injuries are highly associated with PTOA, with studies indicating that even with surgical reconstruction, 50%-80% of affected individuals develop knee PTOA within a 10-year follow-up.

Objective: Antithrombotic therapy improves endovascular intervention outcomes for peripheral artery disease. However, there are limited data guiding the choice and duration of these adjuvant therapies. Thus, we explored current antithrombotic prescribing preferences among vascular interventionalists, hypothesizing that there are varied and inconsistent treatment practices among providers.

Background: A larger joint line convergence angle (JLCA) increases the stress load on the medial compartment. Few reports, however, have discussed the effect of the JLCA on the cartilage status and clinical outcomes after opening-wedge high tibial osteotomy (OWHTO).

Purpose/hypothesis: To reveal the effect of the JLCA on clinical results after OWHTO.

Entrapment neuropathies of the lower extremity are often underdiagnosed due to limitations in clinical examination and electrophysiological testing. Advanced imaging techniques, particularly MR neurography and high-resolution ultrasonography (US), have significantly improved the evaluation and diagnosis of these conditions by enabling precise visualization of nerves and their surrounding anatomical structures. This review focuses on the imaging features of compressive neuropathies affecting the lumbosacral plexus and its branches, including the femoral, obturator, sciatic, common peroneal, and tibial nerves.

Introduction: The purpose of this study was to investigate the morphology and distribution characteristics of fat globules in osteomyelitis on magnetic resonance imaging (MRI).

Materials And Methods: Patients with pathologically-confirmed osteomyelitis and MRI scans were retrospectively enrolled, and fat globules on the MRI images were analyzed.

Results: Among 103 patients with non-traumatic osteomyelitis, 75 were fat globule negative and 28 were positive.
