Our aim is to investigate if sex and gender influence the association of hypertension and their comorbidities. We investigated how gender differences in five socioeconomic factors impact the relation between hypertension and ten comorbidities including diabetes mellitus, renal disease, and chronic pulmonary disease in European countries grouped by their gender inequality index using representative survey data from the European Health Interview Survey. Using logistic regressions, we compute the ratio of odds ratios in females versus males.

Benzo[a]pyrene (BaP), a representative five-membered polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon, has been extensively studied as a pollutant for decades. Despite this, sex-specific responses to BaP exposure remain poorly understood. This study employed a life-cycle exposure approach to investigate the effects of prolonged BaP exposure on marine medaka (Oryzias melastigma), highlighting sex-specific responses.

Objective: Normal aging is associated with brain volume change, and brain segmentation can be performed within an acceptable scan time using synthetic magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). This study aimed to investigate the brain volume changes in healthy adult according to age and gender, and provide age- and gender-specific reference values using synthetic MRI.
Methods: A total of 300 healthy adults (141 males, median age 48; 159 females, median age 50) were underwent synthetic MRI on 3.

This research investigates the gender-specific associations of uroguanylin levels with various health-related parameters in Iraqi adults. The results revealed significant differences between genders in food style preferences and waist circumference (WC) risk. Notably, uroguanylin exhibited distinct correlations with low density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol, glycated hemoglobin (HbA1c), body mass index (BMI), and WC in females and males, indicating potential gender-specific effects on lipid metabolism, glucose regulation, and adiposity.
