is a prevalent fungal pathogen that displays antibiotic resistance. The polyene antifungal amphotericin B (AmB) has been the gold standard because of its broad antifungal spectra, and its liposomal formulation, AmBisome, has been used widely and clinically in treating fungal infections. Herein, we explored enhancing the antifungal activity of AmBisome by integrating a small chitin-binding domain (LysM) of chitinase A derived from .

Background: Invasive aspergillosis is associated with significant morbidity and mortality in patients with haematologic malignancies and haematopoietic cell transplant recipients. The prognosis is worse among patients who have failed primary antifungal treatment.

Objectives: We aim to provide guidance on the diagnosis and management of refractory invasive pulmonary aspergillosis.

Invasive fungal infections pose significant morbidity and mortality risks, particularly those caused by moulds. Available antifungal classes are limited by toxicities and are increasingly susceptible to resistance, particularly amongst challenging fungal pathogens. The purpose of this case series and literature review was to characterize the use of a high-dose lipid formulation of amphotericin B.

Background: Regardless of the most recent inclusion of mold-active agents (isavuconazole and posaconazole) to antifungal agents against mucormycosis, in conjunction with amphotericin B (AMB) items, numerous uncertainties still exist regarding the treatment of this rare infection. The order Mucorales contains a variety of fungi that cause the serious but uncommon fungal illness known as mucormycosis. The moulds are prevalent in nature and typically do not pose significant risks to people.

Cryptococcosis is traditionally associated with immunocompromised patients but is increasingly being identified in those without the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) or other immunocompetent individuals. We aim to describe the characteristics, mortality, and associated variables with death among hospitalized patients with cryptococcosis in Brazil. This is the first multicenter retrospective cohort study conducted in seven public tertiary Brazilian hospitals.
