Scalp arteriovenous fistula (AVF) is a rare vascular malformation that may present as a pulsatile scalp mass with complications like hemorrhage. We report a case of a large scalp AVF with recurrent bleeding, managed successfully with a multimodal approach. A 46-year-old man presented with a recurrently bleeding pulsatile scalp mass in the left temporal region, initially diagnosed as AVF following trauma.

This report details a 59-year-old female who underwent total gastrectomy with Roux-en-Y esophagojejunostomy for early gastric cancer, followed by percutaneous embolization for esophagojejunal (EJ) anastomotic leakage. Despite initial percutaneous drainage for fluid accumulation at the EJ site, subsequent CT revealed significant anastomotic dehiscence.

Since the first use of embolization for cerebral arteriovenous malformations (AVMs) by Luessenhop and Spence in 1960, this procedure has become a cornerstone in the multimodal treatment approach for brain AVMs. Currently, in the United States, the main embolic agents employed are n-butyl cyanoacrylate (NBCA) and Onyx (Medtronic, Minneapolis, MN). This systematic review and meta-analysis aim to compare these two agents in terms of efficacy and safety.

Background: Congenital external carotid-jugular arteriovenous fistulas (AVFs) are often diagnosed based on a pulsatile neck mass. Patients rarely complain of headaches or neck pain.
Observations: A 45-year-old woman with no history of trauma had been diagnosed with a congenital cervical external carotid AVF 10 years earlier.
