Background: De novo aneurysms in the posterior circulation are very rare. The authors describe a first case of ruptured de novo posterior cerebral artery (PCA) aneurysm in the P3 portion.

Case Description: A 52-year-old woman with ruptured de novo P3 aneurysm was treated by early endovascular obliteration using Guglielmi Detachable Coils (GDC). To prevent vasospasm, she received postoperative treatment with a hypertensive hypervolemia dilution and a calcium antagonist. She was discharged without neurologic deficits.

Conclusions: Aneuryms arising from peripheral segment of PCA are rare, and delayed surgical clipping has been recommended for these lesions. This is the first report of a de novo P3 ruptured aneurysm treated by endovascular embolization using GDC in the acute stage of subarachnoid hemorrhage. The characteristics of de novo posterior circulation aneurysms and the strategy for the distal PCA aneurysms are discussed.

Individual differences in how the brain responds to novelty are present from infancy. A common method of studying novelty processing is through event-related potentials (ERPs). While ERPs possess millisecond precision, spatial resolution remains poor, especially in infancy.

Unlabelled: The most frequent cause of nephritic syndrome in the pediatric population is acute post-infectious glomerulonephritis (PIGN). A rare complication is posterior reversible encephalopathy syndrome (PRES), characterized by subcortical vasogenic cerebral edema associated with variable neurological symptoms. The development of autoimmune hemolytic anemia is an atypical clinical presentation.

Background: Observational studies suggest that hypertension affects brain cortical structure. However, the potential causal association has yet to be entirely determined. Thus, we aim to assess the causality between hypertension and abnormal cortical structure.

Introduction: The normative relationship between lumbar intervertebral disc space height (DSH) and neuroforaminal dimensions (NFD) has yet to be defined.

Research Question: The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between lumbar DSH and NFD using computed tomography (CT), accounting for influences of patient demographic and anthropometric characteristics.

Materials And Methods: We analyzed CT imaging of 350 female and 350 male patients.

Novel Vascular Territory Mapping Algorithm as a Predictive Tool for Identification of Antegrade Flow in Middle Cerebral Artery Occlusion.

Background: Vascular territory mapping (VTM) software estimates which intracerebral vessel provides predominant arterial flow to a brain voxel. The presence of antegrade flow in the setting of acute middle cerebral artery (MCA) occlusion is associated with improved outcomes. We identify whether VTM software is a determinant of antegrade flow in patients with proximal MCA occlusion.
