Sperm competition is found across multicellular organisms using both external and internal fertilization. Sperm competition and post-copulatory cryptic female choice can promote incompatibility between species due to the antagonistic coevolution of the sexes within a species. This between-species incompatibility is accelerated and markedly asymmetrical when sexual mode differs, producing the "weak inbreeder, strong outcrosser" (WISO) pattern.

Purpose: The purpose of this study is to investigate how mentors can convince young, certified, inexperienced employees to remain in a healthcare organisation, and how mentors address "stay or quit" when mentees' lived experiences reveal feelings of insufficiency as crisis in their daily work. We explore how turnover is affected by the mentors' and mentees' discussions within the manager's domain.
Design/methodology/approach: Within the framework of crisis management, the study employs qualitative content analysis of 21 interview responses from mentors, mentees and managers.

Organoids are three-dimensional (3D) cell cultures derived from human pluripotent stem cells or adult stem cells that recapitulate the cellular heterogeneity, structure, and function of human organs. These microstructures are invaluable for biomedical research due to their ability to closely mimic the complexity of native tissues while retaining human genetic material. This fidelity to native organ systems positions organoids as a powerful tool for advancing our understanding of human biology and for enhancing preclinical drug testing.

Understanding the potential impact of nanomaterials (NMs) on human health requires further investigation into the organ-specific nano-bio interplay at the cellular and molecular levels. We showed increased chromosomal damage in intestinal cells exposed to some of in vitro digested Titanium dioxide (TiO) NMs. The present study aimed to explore possible mechanisms linked to the uptake, epithelial barrier integrity, cellular trafficking, as well as activation of pro-inflammatory pathways, after exposure to three TiO-NMs (NM-102, NM-103, and NM-105).
