A 69-year-old man was admitted to our hospital because of massive hemoptysis. Bronchial arteriography showed no abnormal findings. Bronchoscopic findings revealed a small, reddish elevated lesion on the posterior surface of the left upper lobe bronchus. Since the patient developed massive hemoptysis four times in a month, he underwent ligation and transection of the left bronchial artery, and bronchoplasty. Histopathologically, the resected tissue showed a bronchial arterial aneurysm without any inflammatory changes. We concluded that the aneurysm had developed in a malformed vessel.

The present meta-analysis aimed to provide the most detailed and comprehensive anatomical description of bronchial arteries (BAs) using data available in the literature. Adequate knowledge of the normal anatomy and morphological variations of BAs can be clinically significant; for example, this approach can prevent potential risks while undertaking bronchial artery embolization (BAE) procedures and, ultimately, lead to better patient outcomes. Major medical databases such as PubMed, Scopus, Embase, Web of Science, Google Scholar, and the Cochrane Library were searched.

The Drug-eluting bead-based bronchial arterial chemoembolization (DEB-BACE) combination immunotherapy is a rare neoadjuvant therapy for lung cancer surgery, which can significantly reduce the time it takes for lung cancer patients to undergo surgery.We report a male patient, aged 59-year-old, with Stage-III b squamous cell lung cancer accompanied by hemoptysis underwent surgical resection after DEB-BACE combination immunotherapy treatment 21 days later without obvious adverse events.
