A commercially available fiber-optic Raman probe was modified for high-resolution spectral Raman imaging using a 350 microm diameter optical fiber image guide coupled to a dimension-reduction imaging array (DRIA). The DRIA comprised 672 optical fibers, arranged as a square array (21 x 32 fibers) on one end and a linear array (672 x 1 fibers) on the other. An imaging spectrograph was used with the DRIA to acquire multi-wavelength Raman images from -250 to 1800 cm(-1) at a spectral resolution of approximately 5 cm(-1). The utility of this technique for in situ and remote Raman imaging is demonstrated by monitoring the polymerization of a model polymer, dibromostyrene (DBS), while simultaneously measuring the Raman Stokes/ anti-Stokes ratio as a function of sample heating time, over a sample area of approximately 4 x 1.6 mm.

Microneedle (MN) sensors have great promise for food safety detection, but the rapid preparation of MNs for surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) sensors with tunable and homogeneous nanoparticles remains a great challenge. To address this, a SERS sensor of gold nanoparticles@polydopamine@poly(methyl methacrylate) MN (AuNPs@PDA@PMMA-MN) was developed. The extended-Derjaguin-Landau-Verwey-Overbeek theory was applied to calculate the interaction energy between AuNPs and PDA.

Upconverting nanoparticles (UCNPs) convert near-infrared (IR) light into higher-energy visible light, allowing them to be used in applications such as biological imaging, nano-thermometry, and photodetection. It is well known that the upconversion luminescent efficiency of UCNPs can be enhanced by using a host material with low phonon energies, but the use of low-vibrational-energy inorganic ligands and non-epitaxial shells has been relatively underexplored. Here, we investigate the functionalization of lanthanide-doped NaYF UCNPs with low-vibrational-energy SnS ligands.

An entropy-driven catalysis (EDC) strategy is appealing for amplified bioimaging of microRNAs in living cells; yet, complex operation procedures, lacking of cell selectivity, and insufficient accuracy hamper its further applications. Here, we introduce an ingenious all-in-one entropy-driven DNA nanomachine (termed as AIO-EDN), which can be triggered by endogenous apurinic/apyrimidinic endonuclease 1 (APE1) to achieve tumor cell-selective dual-mode imaging of microRNA. Compared with the traditional EDC strategy, the integrated design of AIO-EDN achieves autocatalytic signal amplification without extra fuel strands.

This work is focused on the synthesis and performance of Ni(PO)-based catalysts doped with Cu, Co, Mn, Ce, Zr, and Mg for the complete oxidation of ethanol, aiming at reducing emissions from ethanol-blended gasoline. Nickel phosphate was prepared via the co-precipitation method, followed by impregnation with the specified dopants. The catalysts were thoroughly characterized by XRD, N-physisorption, XRF, FTIR and Raman spectroscopy, FESEM, NH-TPD, CO-TPD, and H-TPR to explain their performance.

The aim of this study is to describe genotype and phenotype of patients with bestrophinopathy. The case records were reviewed retrospectively, findings of multimodal imaging such as color fundus photograph, optical coherence tomography (OCT), fundus autofluorescence, electrophysiological, and genetic tests were noted. Twelve eyes of six patients from distinct Indian families with molecular diagnosis were enrolled.
