Objectives: To emphasize the importance of early diagnosis of encrusted pyelitis in kidney transplant patients.
Methods: We report one case of encrusted pyelitis in a 10-year-old girl with a kidney graft who was treated by means of nephrostomy tube irrigation with an acidifier liquid substance.
Results: After 16 days of treatment there was a significant decrease of the size of the calcified pyelic plaque, keeping a good renal function afterwards.
Conclusions: This disease should be thought of in every case of kidney transplant patient with negative urine cultures and alkaline pH, and the microbiologist should be alerted of the possibility of urinary tract infection by Corynebacterium.

Introduction: The bacterium Corynebacterium urealyticum produces urease and can cause encrusted pyelitis, a condition characterized by calcifications of the renal pelvis and ureteral wall, which may obstruct the urinary tract. We describe a case of encrusted pyelitis caused by C. urealyticum in a kidney transplant patient presenting with altered consciousness due to hyperammonemia.

Unlabelled: Corynebacterium urealitycum is a gram-positive bacillus, usually found as a colonizer on the skin. However, a pathogenic role has been described in susceptible patients, where it can cause urinary tract infection, nephrolithiasis, pyelitis, and encrusted cystitis.
Methods: Retrospective cohort study of patients older than 18 years with positive urine cultures for C.

Background: We present a case involving a pregnant woman who needed transurethral lithotripsy for ureteral stent removal because of the stent encrustation.
Clinical Case: A 34-year-old woman was diagnosed with calculous pyelonephritis, and a double-loop ureteral stent was placed in her right ureter, after which the pyelonephritis resolved. One week after her delivery, we attempted to remove the ureteral stent; however, the encrustation of the proximal and distal coils made it impossible.

Diverse conditions comprise the spectrum of renal sinus pathologies, which have diagnostic and therapeutic implications for patients. Using CT imaging as a lens, this exhaustive review examines the representation of these pathologies. The article begins with a concise synopsis of renal anatomy and the specialized CT methodologies utilized to achieve excellent visualization.
