Objectives: To evaluate the efficacy of fascia lata graft in the repair of secondary urethral fistulas. Urethral fistulas may result from a complication of hypospadias repair. The treatment of urethral fistulas is quite challenging.
Methods: This technique was used in 8 patients between 2000 and 2002. All patients had undergone hypospadias repair and had recurrent fistula formation. A 2 x 2-cm fascia lata graft was harvested from the lateral aspect of the thigh. After repair of the fistula, the fascia lata graft was placed between the urethra and skin. The mean age of the patients was 8 years (range 5 to 13).
Results: During 8 to 22 months (average 11) of follow-up, no recurrence of urethral fistula was observed. No complications occurred, and patients were completely satisfied with the results.
Conclusions: The results of this study show that the fascia lata graft can be used for the closure of urethral fistula secondary to hypospadias repair. Additional studies are warranted.

Introduction And Hypothesis: Autologous fascia lata has been increasingly utilised in pelvic floor reconstructive surgeries such as sacrocolpopexy and sacrohysteropexy. This case highlights sacrohysteropexy with autologous fascia lata as a promising option for women with advanced uterovaginal prolapse who wish to preserve their uterus and avoid synthetic mesh.
Methods: We report the case of a 65-year-old woman with stage 3 pelvic organ prolapse following one forceps and one spontaneous vaginal delivery.

Background: There is a relative paucity of studies examining how the superior capsule reconstruction (SCR) may alter the kinematics of the glenohumeral joint capsule itself, specifically with respect to rotation and translation in the anterior-posterior and superior-inferior planes. This then raises the possibility that the SCR may be having unintended consequences on glenohumeral kinematics. The purpose of this study was to quantify the glenohumeral joint kinematics following Fascia Lata SCR (FL-SCR).

Purpose: To explore if recentering the humeral head could improve shoulder abduction in shoulders with irreparable massive rotator cuff tears (IMRCTs).
Methods: Nine fresh-frozen cadaveric shoulders were used to simulate the intact condition and IMRCTs as controls. Four 'recenter' interventions were then sequentially applied: subacromial interposition (SI) using 4- and 8-mm spacers and superior capsule reconstruction (SCR) using two- and four-layer fascia lata grafts.

Purpose: To evaluate the minimum 12-month clinical and radiological outcomes of combined superior capsular reconstruction (SCR) and lower trapezius transfer (LTT) for posterosuperior irreparable massive rotator cuff tears (IMRCTs).
Methods: Patients with posterosuperior IMRCTs and severe fatty infiltration (Goutallier grades 3 or more) in the infraspinatus who underwent SCR +LTT were retrospectively reviewed. A double-folded fascia lata autograft with one layer of polypropylene mesh inside was used for SCR and an Achilles tendon allograft was used to connect the tendon of lower trapezius to the greater tuberosity.

Background: An anal fistula is a prevalent condition characterised by an abnormal connection between the epithelialised surface of the anal canal and the skin. Surgeons are continually developing new techniques to effectively treat anal fistulae while preserving the patient's continence. This study aims to evaluate the outcomes and complications associated with the management of high perianal fistulae using the fascia lata biological plug (FBP) technique.
