Background: The goal of dysphagia treatment is to ensure a safe and effective reduction in both dysphagia severity and medical staff workload.
Objective: To investigate the correlation of the Hyodo-Komagane score with dysphagia severity and medical staff workload.
Methods: This retrospective cohort study included 96 patients who were referred from other departments for swallowing evaluation from January to April 2021.

Methods: A retrospective review of hand-written surgical case logs was conducted at Harare Eye, Ear, Nose, and Throat Institute (HEENT), Parirenyatwa Group of Hospitals (PGH), Sally Mugabe Children's Hospital (SMCH), and Sally Mugabe Adult's Hospital (SMAH). Patient age and surgical intervention for all otolaryngology surgeries performed in the operating room from 2019 to 2022 were recorded.

Background: Non-isolated auditory neuropathy (AN), or syndromic AN, is marked by AN along with additional systemic manifestations. The diagnostic process is challenging due to its varied symptoms and overlap with other syndromes. This study focuses on two mitochondrial function-related genes which result in non-isolated AN, FDXR and TWNK, providing a summary and enrichment analysis of genes associated with non-isolated AN to elucidate the genotype-phenotype correlation and underlying mechanisms.
