This research highlights a sustainable approach for the design and synthesis of a magnetic nickel ferrite (NiFeO) catalyst reutilizing industrial waste, specifically iron ore tailing and Raney nickel catalyst processing waste, by simple co-precipitation method. Transforming waste materials into high-performance catalysts, this study aligns with the principles of a circular economy, addressing both environmental waste and pollution. Structural characterization by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and microscopic (FESEM and TEM) revealed the formation of well crystalline nano ferrite with NiFeO nanoparticles with cubic spinel structure.

The presence of a substantial necrotic core in atherosclerotic plaques markedly heightens the risk of rupture, a consequence of elevated iron levels that exacerbate oxidative stress and lipid peroxidation, thereby sustaining a detrimental cycle of ferroptosis and inflammation. Concurrently targeting both ferroptosis and inflammation is crucial for the effective treatment of vulnerable plaques. In this study, we introduce gallium hexacyanoferrate nanoabsorption catalysts (GaHCF NACs) designed to disrupt this pathological cycle.

Osteosarcoma is a common malignant tumor found in adolescents, characterized by a high metastatic potential and poor prognosis, but it is sensitive to radiotherapy and chemotherapy. Ferroptosis is a novel form of regulated cell death induced by excessive iron accumulation, leading to lipid peroxidation that results in cellular dysfunction and death. Naringenin is a flavonoid known for its anti-cancer properties, yet its role in osteosarcoma has not been thoroughly studied.

Bacterial infections can lead to severe medical complications, including major medical incidents and even death, posing a significant challenge in clinical trauma repair. Consequently, the development of new, efficient, and non-resistant antimicrobial agents has become a priority for medical practitioners. In this study, a stepwise hydrothermal reaction strategy is utilized to prepare FeO@MoS core-shell nanoparticles (NPs) with photosynthesis-like activity for the treatment of bacterial infections.

Nanoclusters are nanometer-sized molecular compounds characterized by significant metal-metal bonding and low average oxidation states, and they exhibit unique properties distinct from those of small metal complexes or nanoparticles. Unlike noble metals stable in metallic forms, the synthesis of nanometer-sized iron clusters has been precluded by the relatively weak iron-iron bonds and the high reactivity of low oxidation state iron, despite the extensive history of molecular iron compounds. Here, we report the synthesis and characterization of a cationic 55-atom iron cluster with a 1.
