The guidelines recommended in the literature for the convergence angle of a crown preparation vary from 3 to 24 degrees. There is a lack of guidelines on techniques to achieve a specific axial inclination. The purpose of this article was to present a practical technique, with a diamond rotary cutting instrument of known axial inclination, to determine the diamond rotary cutting instrument angulations required to achieve the desired axial inclination of a preparation.

Introduction: Although sagittal alignment is known to influence pelvic position, few studies accurately identify the relationship between sagittal alignment and acetabular orientation. We hypothesized that postoperative PT should be correlated with acetabular change in native hips after surgical correction of adult spinal deformity. The objective of this study was therefore to describe the correlation between the change in pelvic tilt and the change in acetabular orientation two years after surgical correction of adult spinal deformity.

Article Synopsis
  • * Researchers mapped the three-dimensional strain field and identified how indium content in the shell impacts the strain distribution and plastic relaxation processes.
  • * The study found that although axial strains are uniform, radial and tangential strain gradients occur due to strain concentration at interfaces, affecting the growth strategies for these nanowires.

Purpose: To assess clinical and radiographic outcomes of anterior acetabular wall reconstruction and cup revision in patients with anterior acetabular wall defects and associated iliopsoas tendinopathy (IPT) following total hip arthroplasty (THA).

Methods: 7 patients with IPT (defined as groin pain that increased with active hip flexion) and pre-revision computed tomography (CT) scans showing anterior acetabular wall defects and cup-iliopsoas impingement were included. During cup revision, an autologous biconvex iliac crest graft was harvested and placed over the anterior acetabular wall defect before press-fitting a revision cup.

Background: Existing literature supports the efficacy of PAOO in augmenting alveolar bone volume and facilitating orthodontic tooth movement. However, there is a paucity of literature addressing its application in the treatment of adults with skeletal Class III malocclusion. This retrospective clinical study aimed to compare the clinical efficacy of camouflage orthodontic treatment combined with and without PAOO in adult patients presenting with skeletal Class III malocclusion.

Slurry pipeline transportation is widely used in dredging and serves as an essential method for conveying solid materials. However, accurately describing the interaction between slurry and particles through numerical simulations, while optimizing the pipeline structure to improve the performance of slurry pipelines, poses a significant engineering challenge. In this study, a Z-shaped continuous pipeline, designed using B-spline curves, is implemented in the slurry circulation system.
